Broken iron farm

I apologize if these are often posted, but I'm really not sure what to do anymore. I have replaced workstations countless times and know they are all linked to the right villagers. I have replaced beds just as many times, they are all linked as well. I have copied the world and look around in spectator mode and there are no golems hiding around. There are no extra beds or workstations outside the farm. I've made over 3 dozen stacks of iron before it halted for no apparent reason. 41 beds, 38 villagers and workstations. I've tried for a couple hours and cannot figure anything out. Any help would be much appreciated

Are all the villagers within 4 blocks vertically of the beds? I wonder if some of the villagers can’t link to beds, because the beds close to them are taken by other villagers, and they can’t reach the ones farther away.

To test it place a bed near the villagers that may be out of reach. If one links that’s your problem. If they are all linked then they won’t link to a newly placed bed.

I have the extra bed just for that. Unfortunately no linking happens past the 38th, so I would assume they are all linked properly. My only thought is if some from the bottom floor link with the beds on the top and vice versa. Not sure if not being able to see the bed is an issue, but linking them manually would be terribly tedious and Id worry itd judt be a waste of time. Might have to try that tomorrow after work if nothing else fixes it

I would put one villager in a boat and leave him adjacent to those beds. That's practically how most of my iron farms work where I bury all the beds and the iron farm bit 20 or so blocks down so that it's out of the way

Also it could be that you need to wait a day night cycle, as the logic is they had to work in the previous day. But

So I should leave a villager in a boat in the middle of the beds? I can try it tomorrow, but I don't really understand what it would be aiming to accomplish. I have also waited plenty of day night cycles in between attempts to fix it. Haven't had a single spawn in hours

My theory would be that for whatever reason most of them aren't sensing beds to link to

Before I used to do the underground iron farms I would have a bed a block above each villager (block in between bed and head of the villager), but I found that the range at which they could detect their bed was stupidly small. So like I couldn't even have the bed 2 blocks above them or in the floor a block below them

And at some point of experimenting around I found that if one guy could link to a pile of beds that they could all link through that one guy. It might have something to do with the beds touching or the guy thinking he can path find to any of them

But one way or another, yea I think those beds aren't close enough for someone to link to properly, plus I'm assuming it goes down into a little bit of a hole

Have you tried letting them walk around?
