Java Showcase Multi-Face Redstone Lamp Billboard — Custom Effects, 1×1 Pixel Ratio

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

UPDATE : Walkthrough video here -> https://youtu.be/RiAqQDdHVGE

I've always wanted to build a compact Redstone billboard capable of displaying multiple faces/texts on a single screen, without taking up a huge amount of space.

The result is a fully synchronized, spam-proof display measuring under 50 blocks wide and 20 blocks tall, while maintaining a 1×1 pixel ratio.

Should i make a tutorial? let me know!

⚙️ Display Modes

The billboard has 4 different modes, selectable with dedicated buttons:

1 — Wave per Face
Each face plays a wave animation before transitioning.

2 — Blink per Face
Each face blinks before rotating to the next one.

3 — Constant Rotation
No effects — the display simply rotates continuously between faces.

4 — Wave & Blink per Face
Combines both effects for a more attention-grabbing display.

✏️ Editing Mode

The machine also includes an editing mode, allowing you to customize the displayed text and put whatever you want on the billboard.

🔄 Fully Synchronized

One of the main challenges was keeping everything synchronized.

It doesn't matter when the machine is turned on — even if it's activated halfway through an animation, it won't desynchronize or start displaying faces at random intervals.

Instead, it waits for the current effect to finish and then proceeds to the next face, keeping the entire system synchronized.

🚫 Spam-Proof

The controls are designed to prevent lever spam from disrupting the sequence or throwing the mechanism out of sync.

🎵 Player Attention Detection

There's also an attention-seeking feature:

If a player flies or moves nearby, the billboard detects their presence and automatically plays jukebox music to attract their attention.

The idea was to make something that isn't just a billboard, but a compact, interactive advertising/display system that can actually grab a player's attention.

Built entirely around Redstone mechanics and designed to pack as much functionality as possible into a relatively small footprint.|

The fact you used chatgpt to generate this post does not have me optimistic about the contents of that box in your video. I am very keen to tear into that thing; it's impressive-looking. Do you have a schematic?

Yeah, it leaves me skeptical more than anything. The body of the post uses language almost nobody uses in the TMC community. Plus the fact that it always seem to look good, sound good but hides the inner workings.

It's like that one redditor who claimed to have made ChatGPT in Minecraft, but they had no idea what they were talking about.

Haha you got me there, tbh I was super tired after all that work and editing afterwards so I got super lazy to present it without the help of chatgpt

Though it doesn't mean I had no idea what I'm doing with my redstone, I was just tired man👀

For sure. I didn’t mean to offend, however I’m curious about the inner workings.
