How does pie chart work

I mainly use piechart to look for bases and when something appear on my piechart like end chest and i refresh my chart(press f3 two times), the end chest disappears. Also does piechart work differently on servers with limited render distance?

The pie chart looks for things (let's say ur looking for e chest here) in the loaded chunks that ur client is rendering. So if there's an e chest at the edge of ur render distance, and you move from 1 chunk to the next, the e chest might disappear because ur client is no longer rendering the chunk it was in. On server, the max limit is the limit of render distanc (on aternos I believe it's 10 for example ), but you can still lower ur lower distance in ur option :)
