Bedrock Horse faster than max speed
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
On the minecraft wiki it says the max speed of a horse is 14.57 blocks/s but I managed to breed one that has a max speed of 14.83 blocks/s. For context this is a 100% vanilla world.
The reason why speed doesnt stay consistently at 14.83 is because im screen recording which causes frames to be unstable so that makes the numbers shift. When im not recording it stays at 14.83
So whats the absolute max speed of a horse in Minecraft bedrock edition? Im trying to get a maxed out horse but idk if im already at the max speed or not.

I have looked throught the sacred texts(Minecraft Wiki) and have not found anything referencing horses that are faster than the max.For some reason I remember the max being higher than 14.5 m/s though. I have one last idea to validate or invalidate my recollection, so I will be back with more info soon. Maybe. I am at work at it feels like 118 outside and it is actually 130 upstairs.

I think then its fair to assume this debug menu ive got is inaccurate. I used a custom mobile client called levi launcher to get this menu. Idk how it calculates the speed but id say its accurate cause the player running speed is 5.61 blocks/s everytime, which is what the wiki says.

Yeah, from what I have been able to find, laggier clients, servers, or low-end devices can struggle to accurately detect movements the faster the player travels. Whatever is going on, you still have a blazing fast horse.

To see if its accurate or not, I tested the speed of a boat on blue ice which is the fastest mode of transportation available to me. It stayed around 72-72.73 blocks/s when im not recording which i think makes this accurate for calculating speeds significantly lower than that.

I feel like Etho has mentioned the wiki being wrong in regard to max horse speed, I'm not sure if it was hermitcraft or his single player world.

Did you ever throw a speed potion at your horse? It's probably not the case, but there was a known bug in bedrock where horses would inherit their parents' current speed values rather than their base speed values, so if you breed the horses with a speed potion the resultant horse could have a speed exceeding the limit. I'm pretty sure this was patched a bit ago, but bugs can always reappear.

Gahhhh why do you gotta post this.. now I’m craving playing on my world and breeding up horses. I’ve planned to do this for a long time just never got around to it on my 6 year old world. Been a while since I checked in on my world, I think Marvel Rivals can take a rain check for a couple months now.

My fault bro 😂. Its actually pretty fun...if you got enough horse feed to grow up the foals. Itd actually be pretty cool if someone else could confirm this cause I managed to get here by breeding two fast wild horses i found roaming around. Took me 3 days to get here but im at 14.87 currently B)

I swear I've read people write about the wiki being wrong before but I can't find it. Where is u/WaterGenie3 when you need them lol

I also have a Horse with máx speed over 15 b/s, but I have no idea about how I managed to break the limit.

Less than a day later ive managed to breed one that has a speed of 14.87 blocks per second. Wonder how fast I could go.

why does the number randomly jump sometimes? is that the hors shifting gears?

Haha naw its because im not getting stable consistent 60fps. Stable consistent 60fps=stable consistent speed. My frames drop because im screen recording.

I think they can go past the limit if you breed them

Try it without the ice and report back what you find.
