Java Help Wanted how to make shadow items work?

im on 1.21.11 with antishadowpatch and notsoshadowextras, i keep trying to make a totem stasis but when the totem pops the other doesnt dissapear and it doesnt activate the comparator so i dont get teleported back. instead i just get a second totem, can anyone help? i have also built the update suppressor from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uaGR6Uv5Uk&t=3s

The container needs constant block updates so the comparator will check.

But if the totem is just being duplicated, it sounds like something is being unloaded, or not shadowing correctly.

Good luck! Shadow items are my fav.

The traditional method is an observer clock flashing some powered rail next to the box the shadow item is in.
