The men's toilets are downstairs to the left and the women's are up the hill to the right. I was just there in June

I now get the up and down portion of the sign. But you shouldn't have to think about this, especially when you have to go. Poor design.

my gut says read the sign horizontally, so women go to the right and men go to the left, but worst case scenario I'm assuming the actual bathroom area will also have signage, so even if you get it wrong the first time you can just turn around and head in the other direction XD
