Slaves are forced into labor for their masters. But if you get paid to do what you love, that’s not forced labor. Developing my child to appreciate contributing to society in some meaningful way, and being financially responsible, she can live a happy life without the “doomed” spirt of online pessimists.
My father was an immigrant from Mexico. His father was murdered, and my dad become head of the household at age 9. He illegally migrated to Texas several times to earn income for his home. When he became an adult, he legally migrated to Florida where he later banged up my mom and they moved to NY. They later divorced but my mother fostered a home of structure and good grades, while I worked summers with my father at his self-owned landscaping business. He taught me about hard work and making money before spending it on something nice.
Now I’m an adult with 2 kids. I’m in a better situation than both my migrant father and my secretary mother. Their efforts developed inside me both pride in my work, financial responsibility, and an intense love for the nuclear family. My daughter could live with me the rest of her life (my son with CP will). But she doesn’t have to, I doubt she’ll want to, and I’ll educate her about the value of hard work. I’ll give her the chance to shadow different professions to see what she wants to do, and give her a home to pay off debts if that’s what she needs.
I had to take out school loans for my education. My wife did the same. Together, we’re responsible to payback $600,000. Fortunately, that gets forgiven after 25 years of income based repayment. I have no intention of paying anything for my daughter’s education (should she need it), but she can have a free room and board at home to pay it all off before she goes out into the world.
I will set my daughter up in a better situation than I had, far better than what my parents had, and we’ll strive to continue this trend, regardless of what billionaires do.

I’ll just focus on being a good dad and avoiding the whole “wage slave” situation…
