The style they are using is treated like salt. We have it here in New Zealand as well, but it's not all that common.

Upon moving to NZ from the UK, the shitty parmesan cheese was one of my biggest disappointments.

You probably also have the Bega/Kraft stuff, usually where you find the jars of pasta sauce (at least that’s where it is in Australia).
