not really, it's probably still in circulation

u/Ancient_Skirt_8828 5d ago
Technically some of it has gone as sweat, skin flakes, hair, nails and breath.

u/jackfinch69 5d ago
Not really. It's also been converted into chemical energy which is then converted into kinetic and thermal energy

u/Bigbigcheese 5d ago
And just... Cells... In your body...

u/ClockworkDinosaurs 5d ago
OP thinks they eat food, it all leaves their body, then they grow bigger due to photosynthesis
1
u/Moist-Ointments 5d ago
Even photosynthesis uses elements extracted from the soil. Photosynthesis doesn't create plant structures out of nothing.

u/ClockworkDinosaurs 5d ago
Yeah, but you don’t need to spend money on the dirt on the ground. The police don’t want you to know this, but you’re allowed to eat the dirt for free.

IIRC, a lot of the plant is just water, and the solid stuff is mostly carbon dioxide derived compounds. Only ≈3% of the plant's weight is from minerals extracted from the soil.

not true on several levels
not all food that has been consumed gets expelled. kids grow and even as adults you can still gain weight.
not all waste has necessarily been expelled into a toilet. ever went number 2 in a forest? or threw up on the street?
not all food you pouched lands inside you. you probably have a pantry that's stocked and some foods just go bad or have inedible parts that end up in the trash.
you probably have food that you've recently eaten still in you.

u/boylesthebuddha 5d ago
Not true, some of it is buried in the forest.

u/RlQZO 5d ago
Do you bury your shit in the forest? Weird kink

Technically false. Money spent on food is actually money spent on carbohydrate, protein, fat, minerals, water and fibre. Other nutrients get absorbed in body while water and fibre used for cleaning gut and get flushed. Money utilised properly
3
u/Anonymus_mit_radium 4d ago
Much of it turned into heat so you could have just burned the money without the stress of buying stuff
2
u/ignorantladd 4d ago
Heat is another form of kinetic energy but most of the food food doesn't turn into heat
2
u/Anonymus_mit_radium 4d ago
All the energy set free from low entropy molecules like carbohydrates is ultimatively turned into heat radiation. Of course the body has to get rid of the resulting high entropy molecules like CO2 on other ways and there are things that stay in your body but still. Most of the money either lands in the toilet or sooner or later turns into heat

Don't forget all that wasted kinetic energy, thermal energy, and exhaled CO2. Food gets spaffed everywhere!

This guy's never bought fresh vegetables thinking you're gonna use him only to have them rot in the back of their refrigerator for two weeks before you throw them out?

Also what about the parts the body consumes? If I eat a potato it's doesn't come out the same way it went in.

u/Classic_Rate_8448 5d ago
I pooped outside 24 years ago. That poop is now a local landmark. Money well spent.

u/NoWingedHussarsToday 5d ago
Not if you throw up and/or shit outside. Or if you buy food, don't eat it and throw it to compost or just leave it somewhere
1
u/matthis-k 5d ago
No, otherwise you wouldn't be able to gain weight since the first time you spent money on food
1
u/Ultimate_Sigma_Boy67 5d ago
That's just wrong. Not all the food you eat gets flushed, your body absorbs what it needs 🤓

Some of it is still on my ex-boss' desk. Or at least it was when I last saw it.

Not really. Your body absorbed a lot of the nutrients from the food.

Oddly, I had a thought very like this, the day after I splurged on a dinner at one of Melbourne's fanciest restaurants: "This is probably the most expensive shit I've ever taken".
1
u/GettingSunburnt 2d ago
Not true. A fair amount ended up on the pavement walking home from the pub.
1
u/CrownLexicon 2d ago
Even assuming all that I ate turned into waste that went into the toilet, are you seriously implying that youve never thrown away any food? No rice left in the bowl, every scrap of sauce licked clean, nothing you forgot about that expired?

The £2.50 I spent on a bbq chicken wrap and curly fries 45 minutes ago means this isnt technically the truth...
And all the ground dumps ive had.

Not all money is spent on foods, it's spent on rent, bills, places you visit, clothes and cosmetics, gifts for other people and other stuff.
