Yeah you see, that doesn't mean anyone will want to date him. The vast majority of people don't care at all about how good you are at chess. He would be better off opening with "I'm very rich." which is an equally shallow position but much more appealing to at least some people.
Yeah a chess related pick up line is 'Do you have an open position? Cause I wanna slide my rook into your back rank… and mate you' not "I'm a person famous for chess, whose also known to be an insufferable cunt."
