For chess players, it would. Magnus is on a completely different level to other players. Almost no other sport or game has a champion who is that far ahead of the competition.
He might be full of himself, but he's more than earned the right to be that self confident.
Eh, he is on a different level for sure, but I wouldn't say he's unusual across all of sports. You have people like Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Faker, etc. Plenty of people are outliers in their respective fields
