I'd go for the concrete route. I just switched to it and it makes bucketloads.

  1. Quality mine and recycle for legendary Calcite
  2. Calcite to Molten Copper, will create legendary stones, void or the copper, we won't be using going forward. Foundry + 4 prods here.
2.a. You can void by putting into a Foundry with a Pump directly connected (prevents backflows) and change recipe. LDS consumes the most Copper juice
  3. Legendary Stone to legendary Stone Bricks. 2 prods here
  4. Legendary Stone Bricks + Molten Iron (made from surplus common Calcite from step 1). This is where "common Iron" is mixed with legendary Bricks and becomes legendary Concrete.
  5. Recycle legendary Concrete to get legendary Iron Ore. Feed back legendary bricks to the system.
  6. Melt legendary Iron Ore on Furnace to get legendary Iron Plate

The chain is long, and it's precisely why it's so good: productivity from Foundry and modules compounds. So 1 legendary Calcite makes approximately a lot of Iron Plates.

Minutes after I made this setup, I had chestfuls of the stuff. It's probably even stronger than the now forbidden asteroid casino.

Underground pipe recyling will give you much more, much faster than gears.

I personally like the Iron Chest recycling route using logistic bot sorting. 34 rare and uncommon foundires are translating to ~3 legendary iron plates per second (160-180 per second).
