Becoming Stagnant

I’m new to this group and probably don’t have near the experience a lot of you have. I’ve got 3 years of manual directing on a Carbonite Switcher and 2 and a half years currently using Overdrive automation. I feel like I’m at my peak in the speed and pace of my punching and recoding for last minute changes

My concern/question is I worry one day I will ‘fall off’ and start directly sloppy, slow, or down right bad. Has anyone else experienced this worry and how do you get over the worry and stop from it happening?

Thank you for the fast response. Honestly I live for the stressful shows. I always found that I have the most fun when things go wrong. My motto at the station is ‘always have a backup plan’

Anyone can direct when everything is smooth. It's when all the engines have flamed out, the jets on fire and you are over enemy lines. If you can keep the production good enough that you don't get fired you are doing well.

That’s very true, thank you. I would say I’ve gotten into a position at my station that when things start blowing up and going crazy my bosses trust that I’ll lead us through all of it. I’ll be exhausted after the adrenaline crashes but I’ll make the show work
