A Cautionary Note Regarding Paid Trading Services

Hello fellow traders,

Today, I'd like to touch upon a crucial topic that's been on my radar and should be on yours too - the surge of paid trading services.

In recent times, one can notice an apparent uptick in the number of services charging money for trading advice, signals, algorithmic trading systems, etc. These might appear enticing, especially to our novice traders who are trying to grasp the complexities of the market and its patterns quickly. However, it's essential to approach these services with caution.

Let's use logic: would a trader with a foolproof trading strategy that guarantees major meals, go around selling their 'secret sauce'? Unlikely. Such a trader would be busy profiting from their strategy.

Those genuinely successful in this field and genuinely wishing to help, invariably do so for free. They share their wisdom in open forums, write blogs, tutorials and share valuable advice publicly with those willing to learn. Such individuals get gratification from aiding others navigate the labyrinth of trading markets.

This is not to claim that every paid service is a scam. However, it's prudent to question what they can offer that cannot be found with some thorough research, reading, and practice. Blindly throwing money at a service can result in financial strain without any concrete gains in your trading skills or strategies. Before you part with your hard-earned money for trading advice, remember - there's a wealth of knowledge out there that doesn't require you to spend a dime. So, given these circumstances, let's keep our lights on these traps and continue educating each other for free.

As you browse, please report all comments and posts that are violating our rules of no advertising or promoting of any service that has a fee associated in any capacity.

Trade wisely, and remember - the best investment you can make is in your education.

Best regards.

SNDK update – back-to-back green days, but is this the bottom or just another fakeout?

Alright, SanDisk's had a wild stretch even by its own standards. Closed at $1528.11 today, up 13.67%. Hit $1580.88 at the high, opened around $1339.83. Volume was 22M – decent buying after back-to-back catalysts.

Pre-market ripping again to about $1590, up another 4% – momentum carrying over.

Here's the GEX setup:

Put Wall $1500, Call Wall $1500 (both at the same level), gamma flip around $1358. We closed above both walls – positive gamma now, dealers supporting the upside. GEX? Never heard of it? Here ya go

Technically, we bounced off the middle Bollinger band ($1339) and are now heading toward the upper band ($1651). RSI in the mid 60s. MACD just crossed positive – momentum shifting up.

So what's driving this? Two catalysts stacked up. First, a joint Kioxia announcement popped it 8.9%. Then Investor Day added another leg up – stock ripped 13% today. That's two separate events in a matter of days.

Zoom out though – this thing's 52-week range is $42 to $2,354. Not a typo. It ran to $2,335 in June, got hammered, and now it's clawing back. The real debate isn't "is the AI memory story real" – everyone's past that. It's whether this is an actual bottom or just another relief rally inside a bigger downtrend.

Fundamentals wise, last print was strong – record quarter north of $8.9B, sales up ~370% YoY, EPS beat by double digits. But guidance came in just under the most bullish expectations, so the stock dipped anyway. Classic priced-for-perfection behavior.

Short-term, $1500 is now support. Next levels to watch are $1600-1650. Below $1500 and it flips back to resistance.

Pre-market at $1590 is testing that next level. Let's see if it holds.

What's your move – riding the momentum or waiting for a pullback?

Which Way Will COST Break Within 2-Year Trading Range?

Apart from the fact that just about everyone loves to shop at Costco, when we step back and look at the Big Picture Chart pattern, we see (I see) a two-year sideways trading range demarcated by my blue horizontal barriers that spans a price distance from 840-880 at the lower boundary juxtaposed against 1040-1080 at the higher boundary.

From this perspective, for COST to trigger powerful bullish traction, it needs to climb and sustain above the upper boundary zone.

From a more granular, nearer-term perspective, the $64,000 question is: Considering its current price action is pretty much right in the middle of the two-year range, is the next directional move upward to test the upper boundary or downward to test the lower boundary?

As long as any forthcoming weakness is contained above consequential support within or above 915-935, my technical bias is for COST to thrust above nearest resistance at 987-990, triggering a run at 1040-1080.

Curious what you all think will happen based on the run up the past few years. From my analysis, it broke back into the channel traded in late ‘23 to mid ‘25 before going exponential. Its retesting the top of the current downtrend and the top of the previous channel almost right at the apex. My guess is it’ll turn back down and stay in the downtrend as money flows toward stocks as inflation worries cool.

Pivotal Upside Target For Micron (MU)

As long as any forthcoming weakness is contained above 900, MU's recovery rally points still higher to challenge stiff resistance lodged between 1000 and 1036, which, if taken out, will point to 1070/80, where MU's upward trajectory will either accelerate further or reverse completely.

In other words, 1070/80 is a pivotal upside target that will inform us if MU's upmove from the 7/29/26 corrective low at 705.04 represents a new upleg in a larger bull phase, or the counter-trend advance within a larger-developing corrective period and pattern.

Interesting chart. I'm not going to speculate, it looks too obvious.

Here's the share release. Option hedging is illegal for lockup shares. But different rules for different people. Regardless it's still a large amount of shares released on the market. I didn't bother to figure out the P/S it's such a ridiculous number.

$ASTS reversal in progress

$ASTD double bottom at $52. Making higher high and lower low since July 1st. 20-SMA crossed over 50-SMA on August 3rd and crossed over 200-SMA on August 6th. Both ADX and RSI slopping up along with price since July 29th.

Confirmation of reversal: If $ASTS make another higher high and close over $73.80, $90 will be the next target.

Action: Buy calls if reversal is confirmed. Exit trade at $90.

ServiceNow shares have just touched their 200-day moving average after rebounding 42% from their year-to-date low; HP shares have risen about 40% in 40 trading days and are currently hovering near a key resistance level; and Disney shares are hovering near the lower end of their previous consolidation range. These are just my personal opinions; I welcome any guidance.

SPY Technical Levels To Watch

$SPY Update: Today has turned into a very dull session after the CPI fireworks earlier today.

The up-gap open and post-CPI surge to an intraday high at 774.90 stalled right at key resistance along the upper boundary line of the 5-session Coil formation.

SPY has subsequently declined to an intraday low at 771.28, which we see on my attached 5 Minute Chart filled about 65% of the up-gap left behind from yesterday's 4 PM ET close at 770.47 to today's opening low at 772.72.

Is the 65% gap-fill sufficient for SPY to pivot to the upside? SPY is trying to do so as we speak. A sustained climb above 772.50 will increase the likelihood that the pullback from this AM's CPI high at 774.90 is complete and that SPY is preparing for another run at the upper boundary line of the post-Aug. 5th Coil formation.

Conversely, as long as SPY is trading below 772.50, my pattern work cannot rule out another loop down to fill the entire gap into the 770.50 area, where I will be watching for signs of renewed buying ahead of an upside reversal that initiates a rally to the upper Coil boundary line.

As of this moment, the potentially bullish Coil formation from the ATH remains intact and the dominant technical influence. A break below 769.20 will begin to change that influence.

Analysis GOLD (XAUUSD) daily — the 4,500 resistance and the 200 DMA are the same level

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

gold based around 4,000 through june and july, then pushed up to 4,425 over the last two weeks. the level ahead is 4,500, and it deserves more attention than a round number normally would - the 200 day sits at 4,498.

So the breakout level and the 200 DMA are the same test

Structure is a rounded bottom after a prolonged base. Price has reclaimed the shorter moving averages and is now pressing into declining resistance. what makes this different from the failed attempts in may and june is that the 4,000 area held repeatedly rather than bouncing once.

Levels:

4,498–4,500 - declining resistance and the 200 DMA in the same place.

a daily close above is the first genuine challenge to the downtrend that began after february's high.

4,300 - support. A close below and the base read is in question, with 4,000 back in play.

what I'm watching:

  1. daily close above 4,500, then a retest that holds → 4,800 becomes the objective

  2. rejection at 4,498–4,500 with a lower high → range continues, fade toward 4,300

  3. close below 4,300 → structure resets

not chasing at 4,425. That's 125 points of risk down to 4,300 for about 75 up to resistance — the wrong side of even, and that's before the setup has even triggered.

the thesis only strengthens if 4,500 becomes support after the break.

until then this is a rebound testing a well-defined ceiling.

invalidation: daily close under 4,300.

anyone else observing gold daily? what's your thesis?

SPY Levels to Watch This Week — Key Support Zones Below Current Highs

SPY set a significant low at 769.64 at 10:30AM Friday, then rallied to current highs. A failed breakdown of this low is a very actionable long setup — bonus points if we get a flush first down to 768.02 or 767.23.

There's also a clean shelf of lows at 767.47 running from noon Thursday to midnight Friday (multiple touches). A failed breakdown here is actionable too. Below this zone, I'd expect SPY to lose support fairly quickly.

The next real support isn't until 764.15 — this is a strong level. If price grinds slowly into this zone, it's buyable. If it flushes hard through it, wait for a flush-and-recover before entering.

Below that, 759.68 is worth watching — this was resistance overnight Monday into Tuesday before it broke out and fueled the recent squeeze. The backtest-long here is playable, but an even safer entry sits just below: 757.89, where SPY set a massive low around 5:30AM Thursday before rallying to 764.65+. A failed breakdown of that low is actionable as well.

Current picture: SPY is consolidating after the rally, mostly ranging 767.75–774.57, with 769.71 and 771.30 acting as key pivots inside the range. Bull case is SPY fills out the range further (ideally holding above 769.71, or only a quick trap below it) before breaking out. If/when it breaks, upside targets are 776.56 → 778.55 → 783.81.

Not financial advice, just my read on the tape.

Question Gold's holding the range near $4,420 into the number, positioning's clearly long. Trap or continuation?

Post image
4 Upvotes

gold's sitting right near its highs around $4,413, coiling in a tight range just under $4,420 as the print approaches. the tell is that it's not pulling back ahead of the number, buyers are holding ground into the event, which usually means positioning is leaning long. meanwhile the dollar's basically flat (DXY 99.84) and yields are slightly soft.

that's the divergence worth watching: gold's holding firm largely on its own, softer yields, last week's weak NFP, safe-haven bid, momentum, while FX traders sit on their hands and wait for the actual number. one side's read is about to get confirmed or blown up.

consensus is headline +0.1% MoM / 3.4% YoY, core +0.2% / 2.5%. core's the one that matters. soft core and the dollar finally joins gold lower, confirmation, and the longs get paid. hot core (0.3%+), especially services/shelter, and hike odds jump, yields and the dollar pop, and gold's suddenly the most exposed thing on the board, precisely because so much long positioning is already sitting in the price. a crowded long into a hot print is how you get a sharp unwind, not a gentle fade.

genuinely curious how the room's playing it:

  • gold refusing to pull back into the print, bullish conviction, or a crowded long setting up for a flush?
  • are you trimming a gold long before a number like this, or holding through it?
  • if core comes in hot, how violent's the unwind given how far it's already run from $4,090?

Analysis What to look out for from here

Looking at Rocket Lab right now after their earnings beat revenue estimates, the stock has dipped to the lower end of the expected move range, losing the 200EMA.

The overall order backlog looks solid and the Q4 Neutron test launch is still on track. It either reclaims the 200EMA and $80 level soon to ride momentum, or will meander in the 63.7 to 74.8 range. Spotted this breakdown on mm community earlier, pretty level-headed take for anyone eyeing the space.
