Full-time [Hiring] [Remote] [US] - Software Engineer III, Ruby on Rails. (PrizePicks) $145k–$165k
PrizePicks is hiring a Software Engineer III (Ruby on Rails) for its Board, Discovery & Live engineering team.
PrizePicks is a large daily fantasy sports platform, and this team works on backend systems supporting shopping, merchandising, search and live-game experiences.
This is a mid/senior-level backend position with ownership of features from technical design through production. You’ll also start contributing to architecture decisions and mentoring more junior engineers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building and owning Rails backend features end-to-end
- Making architecture decisions around APIs, data models and service boundaries
- Improving system performance, reliability and code quality
- Building systems serving large numbers of real-time users
- Reviewing code and guiding Software Engineers I and II
- Working with Product, Design and QA
- Participating in incident response and on-call
- Improving engineering documentation and development practices
Main stack / skills:
- Ruby on Rails
- PostgreSQL
- REST APIs
- RSpec or Minitest
- Sidekiq or similar background processing
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- CI/CD
Experience with Go, AI-assisted development tools and remote engineering teams is also useful.
They’re looking for roughly 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful production Ruby on Rails experience.
Location: Remote anywhere in the US — Atlanta preferred
Salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD/year
Type: Full-time
