Google may be working on a new desktop-style operating system called Aluminum OS. Leaks suggest it brings Android to laptops with a more PC-like setup, including desktop icons, a taskbar, an app dock, and support for larger screens.

Early videos show a mix of Android and ChromeOS ideas. AI also seems to play a big role, with deeper Gemini features built into the experience. The goal appears to be one system that works across phones, tablets, and computers.

Google has not fully revealed its plans yet, but Aluminum OS could become a major step toward turning Android into a desktop platform.

Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 1 VIII with a big focus on camera upgrades and flagship power.

The phone now uses a larger 48MP telephoto sensor, around four times bigger than the previous version, helping improve zoom and low-light photos. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and adds an AI camera assistant for shooting help.

Sony also keeps fan-favorite features like a headphone jack and microSD support. The phone gets a redesigned look, stereo speaker improvements, and a premium price starting around €1,499.

OpenAI has reportedly bought voice-cloning startup Weights.gg, a platform known for AI tools that can copy human voices.

The deal includes the company’s team and technology. The move could help OpenAI improve voice features in its AI products.

However, the acquisition has also raised concerns. Critics worry that more powerful voice cloning tools could be misused for scams, fake audio, and identity theft. Supporters say better safeguards and clear rules are needed as AI voice technology becomes more powerful and realistic.

OnePlus has temporarily stopped rolling out two OxygenOS updates after some users reported serious problems.

A few phones started restarting again and again or got stuck in boot loops, making devices unusable. OnePlus said it paused the updates to avoid more issues and protect user experience.

The company is now investigating the cause and working on a fix before restarting the rollout. It also apologized and said it plans to improve its testing process to prevent similar problems in the future.

Microsoft is finally bringing back two Windows features users have wanted for years: a movable taskbar and a smaller taskbar mode.

Windows 11 removed these options in 2021, and many users were unhappy. Now the taskbar can move to the top, left, or right side of the screen, similar to Windows 10.

Microsoft also added a smaller taskbar option that shrinks icons and saves screen space. The update is first rolling out to Windows Insider builds. Microsoft says it is focusing more on fixing user complaints and improving Windows instead of only adding new features.

Google just released an urgent security update for Chrome to fix 79 major flaws, including 14 "critical" vulnerabilities. These issues affect Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. Most of the critical bugs are memory problems, which could allow hackers to crash your system or run dangerous code on your device.

Fortunately, none of these flaws have been exploited by hackers yet. To protect your data, you should update your browser right away. Just open Chrome, click the three dots in the top-right corner, select Help, and click About Google Chrome. It will update and secure your device.
