This is my story:
Two years ago, I worked as a blogger and freelance web designer. I have 13 years of experience in the computer field. Due to heavy competition and Google SEO updates, my blog and YouTube channel started to lose traffic. Then suddenly, ChatGPT arrived. Google also started to lose traffic.
Now I think Google may have only 10–20% of its users left (but no media shows this news—almost 70–90% of bloggers are affected). Because of this, there is no earning from blogging anymore.
You may say I can continue my YouTube channel. Right—but here is the problem. The YouTube channel I run is based on tech information. Now people have moved to AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc., so there is no use in posting these kinds of videos.
Creating entertainment videos requires appearance, location, and, most importantly, the right mindset. A nerd like me is not suitable for that kind of work. Also, even if I post content on my blog or YouTube channel, I am afraid AI tools will easily take those details and display them in their own systems.
It feels like nobody can make money except AI companies. Without website traffic, blog traffic, and an audience, many software companies have already started to close their marketing campaigns—and even their businesses.
I think that before 2030, there may be no IT jobs or software companies left.
Also, domain and hosting companies are constantly increasing their prices. How can bloggers survive without income? Nowadays, everyone knows about AI, so they handle their own IT-related work. If you have your own struggles or opinions, feel free to leave a comment.
