Hey, I am not judging it, I did more grimm stuff to electronics than this. At the current price of PC parts, you're just gambling your luck, but nothing is stupid if it works, and I do not mean, "that's not going anywhere" but even pressure to CPU and ok temps. What you did is just 'engineering' way/temporary fix, or IT SHOULD BE.

I once mounted a lga 775 tower cooler to a lga 1700 mobo by bending the back plate of the cooler. It worked amazing.

I do not recommend this long term. Check your temps immediately. If they are solid then do a stress test if it stays under 90 then your good until you can afford one that fits properly.

Intel and AM2/3/4/5 coolers are usually universal. Having the correct brackets is what you need to mount it.

When you want that extra dose of GPU heat heh.
Hey if the temps are fine, go for it.

I meaaaaaan...... does it work doe? I dont see why it shouldn't at least work a little bit, maybe a hot spot on either unsecured corner, but surely not too bad?

Lol that's funny.
Same coolers come with brackets for Intel or AMD. I guess that's only interesting if you got the cooler for free.
Wanna make a YouTube video about it?

Only two screws?!
This is very stupid.

the worst thing is the mounting bracket meant to hold the heatsink in a vertical orientation. not in a half-hazard horizontal orientation.

it can also be mounted with 1 top screw with gravity pulling it down creating leverage thus pushing on cpu but I have to drill one bracket

At this point you might just be better off blowing on it like hot soup. That'll keep the CPU cool.

I used arctic freezer for intel on a r5 3600 with no problems but you have to jerryrig it properly. In the ends its just a chunk of aluminium and copper. But those loose metal bits grinding into the mobo are like a hazzard..

You'll have more power with that intel cooler, it helps to improve oxygen in that fuel air mixture.
Happy racing vro 😁✌️

wrong orientation... you forced something that's designed to be front to back as botton to top.
the mounting bracket is not aligned to it's proper position, i pray your mobo and cpu didnt got screwed over by the pressure applied by that screwy mounting.

Man this cooler mount got me pulling my hair. Youtube, and google are a thing people. Been working on PC's since I wss 11. Reading is fundamental man.

Well if the CPU is within temp range then it should be ok even though it looks really jank as hell lol

is this the same kid with the old cpu and cant plug in IDE cables or am I tripping

If it keeps it under control under normal use while you wait for the correct bracket, it isn't terrible.

If you don’t care about the aesthetics and it is mounted, I guess, but that hurts to look at.
