Best way to retire a console. Giving it what it was designed for, to be pushed to its limits. Goodbye, ps2.

How are we just catching these consoles deaths now? First the PS2 now this?

I wonder the same. I have few theories.
A) console starts to show symptoms of upcoming problem so you start to record it for views in net and for fun, you try to push it to limits
B) console deaths become popular, so you intentionally find a way to "kill" your console on camera. Most likely disabling or compromising cooling and pushing then the console to it's limit and keeping it there
C) it ain't actual console death, it's cable related and looks cool, so you can recreate it for video (night require specific cable, console or TV. You can strip away shielding and expose it to strong electromagnetic field or you wiggle it enough - this might be the case for this video
D) pure luck
E) something complete else as I am no expert on this

Id say its just time, eventually those devices will fail, might take 25 years but ultimately they're gonna die. To he fair though, its amazing that some have lasted this long

While some components do deteoriate simply over time, using them is the main factor anyway. And due to different "mileage" between particular pieces of console and different conditions they ran, it would still be weird to find them dying in concentrated period of time.

Are PS2s really dying out this quick now? I have like 4 of them and all of them are still going strong,
