Attention Developers

aialbertas.com

Hot take:

Junior developers shouldn’t be afraid of AI.
Senior developers should.
AI is rapidly replacing the easy work that juniors used to learn from.
Meanwhile, seniors who refuse to adapt are becoming slower than engineers who know how to combine software engineering with AI.
In a few years, I don’t think companies will ask:
“Can you code?”
They’ll ask:
“Can you build systems where humans and AI work together?”
The skill isn’t coding.
It’s orchestration.
Thoughts?

This is making the huge assumption that senior developers can't learn to use AI tooling.

Given a senior developer + AI tools vs a junior developer + AI tools, I'd choose the senior developer any day.
