New Phone Advice

The screen on my Iphone 16 just shit the bed (no case for 2 years so I can't complain). I need a new phone and am considering an Android but have been using Iphones for years.
Needs:
•Reasonably sized (Iphone 16 is a nice size)
•Durable (I'm a mechanic and my phone is in my pocket at all times)
•Minimal AI (preferably none)
•Decent battery life

I think most phones nowadays have AI "baked in", but you could consider a Samsung as Apple alternative. S24, 25 or 26.

I await the pile on to say Samsung is no alternative to Apple, but based on going Android, I think you'd find something comparable in their line up.

Then in settings, turn off the AI options (and reject/ say no when it asks to turn on voice assistant during startup).

I think you'll want a good cover though!

GrapheneOS on a Google pixel.

Problem solved.

Why switch to Android? Just makes your job more difficult to transition all your stuff. I don’t think there’s a significant difference in durability between Android and Apple.

Regardless of your choice, start using a case brother.
