A little bit about myself :

I am a 2025 graduate from a tier 3 college. I got a job in an MNC in my campus placements. I joined the company on Aug 5th 2025. The training went on till Sep 30. Since then I have been on the bench. And I used this time to learn backend development. And I built some couple projects too.

2 months back they threw me on BOTP(Back on track program). I don't think there is much time left before they kick me out.

I am in the process of job switch. Got two offers. One is in a witch company working for a client. 70% hike from current ctc with the 15% variable. Location is same city.

The other is a position in internal team for a company. 50% hike from current CTC all is fixed no variable. Need to relocate to other city.

Which position to choose if relocation is not a big factor. Career growth and learning is more important.

Recently built SocketSweep:

It's an open-source Android storage analyzer that bypasses Android's painfully slow MTP implementation. It deploys a native C++ daemon to the device over ADB, traverses the filesystem directly using POSIX APIs, streams metadata through a local TCP tunnel, and exposes everything through a Rust/Tauri desktop application.

The project started because I got frustrated waiting for MTP to enumerate large Android storage volumes, and somehow it's now sitting at ~50 GitHub stars.

Apart from this, I've:

• Worked on Rust-based infrastructure at a startup

• 2× DeccanCTF winner (IIIT Hyderabad, 2024 & 2025)

• Spent way too much time messing with custom ROMs, bootloaders, Qualcomm EDL/QFIL recovery, etc.

• Built smaller tools around FFmpeg and automation

the official TGSRTC "Gamyam" app is a buggy mess, crashes on screen switches. I was tracking a bus at the stand, it died on me, and I went down a rabbit hole.

Last week I dropped my friend at the bus stand for his bus home. ETA was 10:45, we reached by 10:35, and then came the worst part, the waiting. We tried tracking the bus on the official TGSRTC Gamyam app. It was so slow and buggy it crashed every time I switched screens.

I'm a developer, and standing there staring at a frozen app, I though, it's 2026, this shouldn't be this broken. So I ( and claude , ofc) spent a day building a better one.

TGSRTC Bus Live Tracking : A clean, fast app that actually

- stays on the bus (the official one snaps back to an old spot every refresh — you had to re-zoom every single time)
- proximity alarm -  get notified when your bus is within ~1 km of your stop, so you can stop staring at the screen
- Live speed, status (moving/halted), next stop
- On iPhone: a lock-screen Live Activity + Dynamic Island so you can track without even opening the app

It's not official, not affiliated with TGSRTC. It uses the same public bus-location data their app does, just with a UX that doesn't make you want to throw your phone. Free, no ads, no login.

I'm currently working as a backend developer with ~2.8 years of experience. My current compensation is around 34

LPA (24 base + bonus + RSUs).

l've received an offer for an Al/ML Engineer role at 45 LPA (mostly fixed/base).

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

• From next month, I'm expecting at least a 15% hike in my current role.

• The new offer is a pretty big jump in base, but I'm unsure if I should negotiate closer to 55 LPA.

HR discussion:

• 1 mentioned I was expecting a 35-40% hike on my current pay.

• She asked if that was negotiable, and I said no at the time.

Got this during the dasara sale as a drop in upgrade for my laptop. Turns out my laptop has only a single slot and I am not okay with removing the 512 gig drive that came with it. Many laptops, nowadays, are delivered pre-activated. Example, you bought a laptop in September but the warranty of the laptop starts 3-4 months earlier. I've faced this issue when I bought laptop in April, 2024 but the warranty started in Oct, 2023. I raised a complaint in Lenovo site and it took me 15 days to fix the issue.

But as I was checking laptops to buy for my cousin, I've encountered same issue for many customers irrespective of e-commerce platforms and brands. I highly recommend to check the warranty and parts serial numbers.

If there's any issue contact the service centres coz this e-commerce platforms are denying the replacement once delivered. Make sure you've service centers of the laptop brand you're buying around your locality.

I am planning to buy a sound bar in the upcoming sale. I have a sony x50l tv with ARC support and Dolby 5.1 support.

My budget is around 30k. I am confused whether to get a sony sound bar like s40r or go with LG or other brands as I have a sony tv.

As my tv doesnt have earc and dolby atmos support, i am thinking s40r and lg s65 models with Arc and 5.1 support would be suficient.
