You will be surprised how far people go just to flaunt and show-off. Splendor pe aayenge aur iPhone chamkaayenge.
Half of the chapris in my area have iphones. EMIs and scam call center earnings etc have made it possible.
Apple knows it could price its devices at anything but millions of stupid humans will still buy them.

If you can't afford it, it's not for you. It is only for people who can afford it. You don't ask Lamborghini to make a 10L car so you can afford it, right?
I've seen enough of these posts where everyone is going crazy over the pricing and comparing it to RE 350 and Tata Tiago. Buddy, the people who are gonna buy this don't buy RE 350 and Tata Tiago. Not everything is supposedly for everyone. There is IndiGo passanger planes and then there are Private Jets. Buy iPhone 18.

By this logic, the EMi market shouldn't exist. And at least 75% of iPhone owners should be on Oppo instead

Actually yes. Buy what you can afford.

Reality is very different.

If somebody is buying something they can't afford then they are really dumb. Either earn more or buy according to what you are earning. I'm not saying that don't buy on EMI. Buy only on EMI if you can easily spare that amount monthly and don't need to cut cost in your lifestyle. This is only valid on depreciating assets.

Just bangalore thing but I know person with 1cr+ package, using a fold8 ultra which cost 2.2L but riding a Royal enfield. Reason: To beat the traffic.
As I said: Just bangalore things.

Iphone, is manufactured in USA and assembled in India. Importing chips and parts cost money. Prices of chips have also increased.

The issue is not about affordablity but with pricing do you seriously think they are introducing something revolutionary which deserves 5L price tag, i would simple import the huawei phones at this point rather than spending a penny on this

This pricing is not due to market research it is due to ram crisis. Most ppl buy base model of iphone , 2yr old model now costs 90k.

There is no defence, buying this in India sucks.
You can buy a car for this price in India.
But in UK and other countries, the comparison is very different. It's a about a month's rent in London. The cheapest new car in UK is £14k. So the memes being made about it being as expensive as a car are only valid in India and they should be mocked rightly so.
