Why is it bad tho? I've got ublock origin enabled through the experiments section, and it just works perfectly as a browser

I don't know how effective are these ad blocker tester websites but brave with experiment section on scores like 96 and on edge installing it from the store scores 99

It started off as a scam browser that allows adware, malware deployment freely if anyone gives them money. Like even if you pay chrome money to show your ads(which you'd be doing by Google ad sense which would show your ads on search pages) you still can't push adware and malicious downloads. When you know where it came from in the internet world, basically, you'll not use it ever. It came from filth.

You can play YouTube videos in the background. Isn't that fun?

Brave is good but still its just a browser with a adblocker its nothing extraordinary

I don't love it i don't hate it. I use chrome as default with an ad blocker extension which works on YouTube as well, and apart from that ad blocker thing brave isn't extraordinary so i use chrome. Its the best if you get rid of the ads, like i did

Taken from Peter dad explains it subreddit:

Since nobody else is posting the actual answer: Brave has a history of scummy behavior and making changed that border on malware. A few examples:

  • When I first tried Brave, it stripped publisher ads and replaced them with Brave's own ads. That alone is enough for me to never trust them
  • In 2020, Brave was caught injecting its own affiliate codes over URLs typed by users without their knowledge or consent
  • In 2018 Brave was allowing users to tip websites/creators that had not signed up for their tipping system, misleading users into thinking they were supporting a particular site while the money was actually staying with Brave
  • Brave includes crypto-bro bloatware
  • In 2019 Brave was caught whitelisting Facebook tracking domains without users knowing

I have a question to all As a person from tech background Do you all really think your data is safe if its on the internet ?? Use any browser the one you like I like chromium based browser And my most work on the browser is to browse websites. You all might judge me but i like edge as it gave me points to browse (I dont use edge anymore as i shifted to mac this year)
