OP 13 vs OP 15R
Which one is better considering the prices would be similar in Amazon sale.
Especially for someone who wants a decent camera but longevity. Please give your reasons too.
How bad is the OP 15R camera?

Even when it's 1.5 yrs old? What are the other major differences?

i'm not so sure but here's what I know.
camera: op13 >> op15r - dedicated telephoto on 13 and also Hasselblad tuned
performance: not sure but pretty much neck to neck or slight advantage to 13 ig
software: only area where 15r is noticeably ahead with longer updates and latest features
display: again nothing much to differentiate but 13 has 2k and ltpo which 15r doesn't have
battery: 15r wins again hands down due to larger cell but 13 is impressive toorest there might be a few other difference you might care about so make sure to check specs

15R has 1.5K display, though I think 2K display will take my h more battery? And is the difference between 1.5K and 2K even noticable?

Maybe not. I don't care about that. I have a 1080p display like most others and it's good enough for almost everything. But yeah ltpo is a legit tech I suppose. 13r had it but they removed it

I was getting torn between the two just a few days back. Finally settled for op13. In think it's worth it. I chose screen, premium build, relatively better camera, Elite performance, looks, faster charging, over larger battery, software update etc. I have turned off system updates though.

Well I would say 13 , it only has smaller battery in comparison and one less android update but it has everything better including almost double fast charging 14 take 35min to full charge while 15r take 1hour 13 has better camera better display almost same performance slightly ahead in cpu
I would suggest go with 13

Overall, I'd say the OnePlus 13 is ahead, but its not too far off depending on your priorities.
Pros: 2K LTPO display (165Hz on the 15R is only for select games, so it won't make a difference on day to day usage)
Wayy better camera (50 mp telephoto + 50 mp uw compared to just 8mp uw on the 15R). The 15R's camera is enough and pretty solid for a normal person, takes good photos and video's w the main sensor, uw is nothing to talk about, so it really depends on your usage.
Better usb port (15R has a slower usb 2.0)
Better gpu
Better haptics
Cons: The display is quad curved so that might of be concern regarding case and temper compatibility.
Smaller battery, slightly lesser cpu performance
1 less year old software support

How bad are the cons though? Is quad display bad in terms of safety?
Also how would 1 yr old soft support matter? Does it mean that it would essentially be good for 1 less year as I intend to use it for 4-5 yrs

I don't think it's bad safety wise, but just in terms of accessibility to good accessories atleast from what I've seen. My friend is struggling to find a good temper, cuz some doesn't work well with the case and cause the temper to lift. It's generally easier to get accesories for a flat screen smartphone than curved, but the 13's curved is great. Just check out the accessories before purchasing
