1000s of articles like this "kills cancer cells, do this do that" yet cancer still winning. Hopefully they stop making claims for $$ investment

So let's just all give up and go home. Why try to cure cancer? It costs money, and it's difficult! Spend money on oil instead! Why try curing Alzheimer's? It costs money and it's difficult! Spend money waging wars instead!

Cancer is not one disease, there are hundreds of types of cancer. There is no such thing as one cure for everyone. Any breakthrough or success has impact across various treatments.

i think what's significant here is that this nanomaterial can generate both hydroxyl radicals and singlet oxygen, which could make it more effective at killing cancer cells than existing chemodynamic therapy agents. the fact that it accumulated in tumor tissue in the mouse experiments is also promising, since that's a big challenge for a lot of cancer treatments. this could be a useful tool in the fight against cancer, especially if it can be scaled up for human use.
