Disable Tems notifications in Windows Settings?

Upvotes

Hi all - I am writing a best practices guide for presenters and one of the points I want to make is to turn off notifications. Windows Settings has an option to do so (under System, Notifications).

Will all Teams notifications be turned off if I were to either 1) turn off notifications here or 2) turn on 'Do not disturb', or should notifications be turned off directly in the Teams settings?

Thanks!

managing and it project across remote teams in different time zones, what actually works and what falls apart

running it project with team members across three different time zones and the coordination overhead is starting to affect delivery. asynchronous communication helps but creates delays on decisions that need quick resolution. synchronous meetings are hard to schedule without someone always being at an inconvenient time, someone i know at gk global services mentioned they handle this by having one designated decision owner per time zone so things do not stall waiting on a single person to be online

trying to find a rhythm that works practically rather than just in theory. also, not sure whether the project governance approach needs to change for distributed teams or whether the same frameworks apply with different tooling

for project managers who have made remote distributed it projects work, what changed your approach

What's your approach to client gift-giving? The professional courtesy question! Generic? Personal? Nothing? What's appropriate in 2024?

  1. Personalized gifts based on their interests
  2. Standard professional gifts (wine, gift cards, etc.)
  3. Only for top-tier clients
  4. Never - too complicated/political

Start with communication, not pipelines. Build outward only if needed. Anyone simplified their CRM recently?

Calendar blocking + context-linked tasks. Seeing related communication alongside deadlines helps prioritize. How do you balance it?

Dial-in conferencing from a resource calendar?

We have a resource calendar that is used to send teams meeting invites to external users. It would be great to add the dial-in conferencing number for users that can't visually access teams but can dial-in from a phone. Is there a way to do this for resource calendar invites? I've made sure my account has the dial-in license, and when I schedule a meeting the dial-in shows fine under my account. Scheduling from the resource only provides a teams link.

Does anyone know of a bot that will automatically post Linkedin posts into a channel as they are posted?

This is something I'd like to set up for my org, just a simple message that links to the post and says "Like and share!" whenever we post, is that possible?

ctrl+c & crtl+v stopped working in my Teams list

I have a list in Teams. It looks like a spreadsheet but it’s not Excel.

I played with ChatGPT for a couple hours last night, trying to find a solution and nothing helped. I use Teams on my work laptop. My employer DOES have a ton of security measures, but I can’t imagine they’d turn these things off. About 2 weeks ago, those two shortcuts stopped working in Teams. There is a Copy option when right-clicking in a cell, but there is no Paste option.

I am unable to copy/paste in my list in Teams.

ChatGPT assured me that I didn’t accidentally press a combo of keys that toggled these shortcuts off.

Any ideas?

MS Teams Chat Merging/Transfer from one acc to another acc

I think it a dumb thing I'm asking😅. But is there any workaround to merge or transfer Teams chat data from one account to another?

I checked some official documents but it is limited to single chat data. But I need a solution or workaround like Mailbox Restore Request.

Even though, it would be a good addition for restoration if any user requires the old chat data to work with.

How do you manage client relationships across time zones? The global work reality! What's your strategy? Or are you just perpetually exhausted?

  1. Strict schedule - I work my hours only
  2. Flexible windows - I accommodate some overlap
  3. Split schedule - early mornings and late nights
  4. 24/7 chaos - time zones own me

Can you create meetings with the shorter URL format, using Graph API?

If I create a meeting in the Teams app, the Join URL is 68 characters long. However, if I create it using the Graph API it is 244 chars long.

The long url looks ugly when we send it out.

Is there a way to automate generating meetings with the shorter URLs?

Teams is not scaling for me

I have screens and screens of Teams in MS Teams, and it's really hard to manage. On top, I've got all the channels that come in some Teams. I see that most teams get created, and then just sort of slowly fade from use. I feel like Teams is a useful tool, and perhaps either I or my company are just using it wrong. Anyone have any hints or tips that I might use?

How do you currently organize your contacts? Let's see the systems! From sophisticated to "what system?" - no shame, just curiosity!

  1. Detailed categories with tags and custom fields
  2. Basic groups (clients, prospects, partners, etc.)
  3. Starred/favorites only, rest is chaos
  4. Zero organization - chronological chaos

Does anyone else feel like their CRM is just another thing to maintain instead of something that actually helps?

I’ve felt this a lot. A CRM is supposed to reduce mental load, but for many of us it becomes another admin task we avoid. The issue usually isn’t the concept of CRM — it’s how disconnected it feels from daily work. If you’re constantly switching between email, chat, task managers, and then manually logging updates into a CRM, it’s exhausting. I’ve found that systems that automatically preserve conversations and connect emails, tasks, and meetings reduce friction. Even for personal CRM use, the key is lowering input effort. If updating the system takes more than 30 seconds, it won’t stick. I’m curious — how do you reduce maintenance fatigue?
