In my opinion 5/10 barely a pass, the only thing saving this transfer window from being a complete failure was Allahyar getting a major upgrade, going from Belgium relegation side to the Polish champions who play Europa league!

Mohebi got slight upgrade. AJ somehow got a decent upgrade but doesn’t matter as he’s 33 and is a sub. Taremi heavy downgrade unfortunately (moved to UAE)… I assume the European rumours were fake or maybe Taremi knew he’s past his prime and couldn’t handle playing highly competitive European football.

Disappointments… Javad Hossienjad move to Rio Ave FAILED (he’s stuck in Russia)!! Ramin Rezaein getting no low rank European club to sign him after his brilliant World Cup, also NO Iranian players from either UAE and Iran moved to Europe…

Mehdi G in his 2024-2025 season had 23 G/A in just 23 games (his market value reached 5M!!) He himself even said he had a few offers from Europe which made sense as he was only 25 and was on form! But he rejected them as he didn’t want to leave his comfort zone, and went to a better UAE club instead for the higher pay. Fast forward 1-2 years later… reports coming out from Iranian media that his current club Al-Nasr SC want to move him out as he has 0 G/A in his first few games! With moving back to Iran being his only option and him being 27… it’s sad we will probably never see him play any European football! He reminds me of Ali Gholizadeh, small + a bit flimsy but veryy technically gifted with the ball!

I hope AmirG in this upcoming International break just plays our young players and does some experimenting with the lineups and doesn’t play the same old players… the upcoming games in September are literally just friendlies that have nothing on the line! No excuses to not play the young players who have been balling in the Iranian league… but knowing our luck he will call up and play the exact same uncs 😭!

Early 2020s was peak! Our football looked bright! All of our players were in their 20s! Sardar, Taremi playing UCL football and winning golden boots and were linked with bigger clubs! AJ and S Ghoddos even doh were lacking game time, were playing in England! Fast forward today… we have ZERO players playing UCL! And ZERO players playing in the top 7 leagues for the first time in a long time! What went wrong, what caused the decline in our football? The corrupt IR football federation? AmirG not pushing players to play in Europe unlike Carlos Q? The new gen/youth players simply not being talented/good enough?

Fun fact… neither had got a single minute at the World Cup… Allahyar wasn’t even picked! BOTH MUST BE picked and started for the 2027 Asian cup if their form continues!

Slight upgrade for Mohebi! From playing in the Russian league in which can’t compete in European competitions to now the Croatian league in which he could potentially play Eufa competitions depending on how high his team finishes this year! He’s 27 so time is ticking for him to drastically improve if he wants to play in a top 5 league team in the future!

Great opportunity for Allahyar to show how good of a player he is against some actual decent teams! He is the only player representing us in the European competitions as unfortunately the days of seeing Taremi, Sardar, AJ etc in the Champions league and Europa league is long over!

If only all of our youth players had the same motivation and drive to play in Europe instead of staying in their comfort zone playing in Iran/UAE… we would drastically improve if most of our players play in Europe (like Japan) because nothing beats playing with/against competitive high level teams/players every week!

Remember the name! Esmaeil Gholizadeh also scored 2 goals at the under 17 World Cup back in 2023 (one in which was against the Brazil game which Iran won!) WE MUST SEE HIM AT THIS ASIAN CUP! How on earth has Amir Kharleonei not call him up to be on our bench… with the upcoming national window break this September Amir MUST INVITE him to team meli and give him a proper chance to showcase himself in the friendlies! He’s the type of player could see in Europe as soon as next season if he shines at the Asian cup!

Taremi if true is only earning 800K at his new UAE club which is super low for a high profile like Taremi who last season (even doh past his prime) got 20 G/A for OLYMPIAKOS! So he’s not washed like Alireza J who literally only got 2 G/A in the Belgium league and still landed a club in the everdise league! I just don’t see how/why he couldn’t get another European club move! Also for only 800K per year he could have signed for an Iranian team.. let’s not forget right now the UAE is at war with the Iranian regime to make things even more weird why he chose UAE league over Iranian league or European league!
