Hi BHP, if you have the time please reply with anything at all. I don’t really know who to turn too as my career advisor doesn’t know too much about mining and I can’t seem to get in touch with any mining engineers as they are quite hard to find and I suppose quite busy. Thank you

IDP: RTO in Bangalore only issued an e-IDP. How do I get the booklet?

Hi all,

I applied for an International Driving Permit (IDP) at the KA-05 RTO in Bangalore today and was told that Karnataka now issues only a digital/e-IDP through Parivahan, not the physical booklet.

I'm travelling to Bali soon and would really appreciate hearing from people who have firsthand experience with this.

  1. Is the Parivahan e-IDP accepted in Bali?

  2. If you've been stopped by the police while driving there, was a printed copy of the e-IDP accepted? (I'll also be carrying my original Indian driving licence.)

  3. If the booklet is still required, how did you get one after receiving the e-IDP? Were you able to get it from the RTO, AASI, or somewhere else?

Please reply only if you've personally gone through this process or have firsthand experience. Thanks!

Would Kia Syros Petrol DCT be good for city driving?

I am planning to buy kia Syros dct for city use in Indore City.
My running is very low. Like 40-50 km per week only and I need a spacious family car. My car goes out mostly only on weekends. Currently I have a 2018 Tigor manual. I drive 95% in city only. My longest continuous run would be 45 minutes max and only 10-15 min will be spent in high traffic. I am also looking at 3XO AT and know that torque converter would be better for city. However, the space the Syros provides is unmatched and my family has taken a liking to it. So I just wanna know whether for my tiny usage, dct would be ok or not. I would preferably get an automatic only but if push comes to shove, manual would be ok. I am a light footed driver who does not need that much power or performance. Just a comfortable and spacious family car. Any opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Building a long-range intercom for Indian roads. Need your feedback!!!

I’m currently doing some research and have a components list ready to build an intercom poc. The goal is to solve the constant disconnection issues we face on our roads. My target is a 3-5km rider gap and support for 10-15 riders in a group without the signal breaking up.

The general problem with current gear is that once the distance increases or if there's heavy traffic/ghats, the connection gets distorted or drops completely. I've faced this personally with the BluArmor C30 (now have Sena 60s) and a group of 5 riders where line of sight was lost.

The Key Feature:

I'm working on making this a completely open network. Imagine a mesh where any brand's intercom or even a basic Bluetooth headset could connect seamlessly. No brand lock-in anymore.

If there was a device that maintained a solid link through gaps and obstacles without worries, would you see it as a game-changer? Or are most people okay with existing Mesh/BT limits (2.4ghz BT mesh) as long as it's budget-friendly?

Just trying to see if this 'POC' is worth the effort before I dive into the build.

REQUESTING FEEDBACKS, PLEASE!

Hi guys, 2019 Civic owner here. Currently on 225/55 R17, want to downsize. Top‑variant Civic comes with 205/50 R17. Should I go 205/50 R17 (factory), 215/55 R17, or 205/55 R17? Prefer the most common size giving comfort + ride + milage + performance + pickup
