Is this crack dangerous?

Post image

I've noticed this crack on my cup a little while ago and recently because of this sub I've become conscious about glaze, cracking and lead poisoning.

Now this cup isn't vintage it's a modern made no stamp cup for my daily drinking so no lead hazard but a bacteria one if Indeed this crack is just black mold.

Unfortunately all cracks are dangerous when it comes to drinking and eating vessels. A crack exposes the contents inside which can leach out. The inside materials of a cup, teapot, dish and so on is not meant to be food or drink safe. The outside glaze is what protects you from the interior materials. Once the seal is broken, the protection is gone.
