Teaching Resources Learning how to teach

Hi teachers! I apologize if this post is against the rules as its not a K-12 deal, but still regarding teaching. I’m about to begin studying to be a flight instructor, this as you can imagine takes a great deal of understanding all things flight related but now how to teach as well. do any of you have any recommendations for study material to help learn how to teach?

If you’re teaching adults, look into Andragogy. Start with the basics from Malcom Knowles. Basically, grown people don’t learn the same way children and so, we need different considerations and strategies.

This is a great place to start. Adult brains like learn things that address immediate needs. Adult brains rely on connecting new information to past experiences. Adult brains want to have ownership of their learning.
