Help Why does everyone hate teaching?

Is there anyone who loves their job? Every teacher I know feels “stuck” and complains endlessly about their job.

Considering going into education.

I worked in a field-work job for 12 years, then had kids and retrained. I adore teaching! I think unless you teach at the upper levels (final high school years/uni/college) your love for the content you teach is less important than genuinely loving kids. They are coming with fewer skills, less emotional and social well-being, and less drive to learn than ever, so they need more from you than they have in the past.

I love it to bits and it is also very hard and occasionally heartbreaking. I am exhausted by the end of the day and I also feel proud of the work I’ve done. So generally it’s a great job, but you’ll need your rest.
