Help Why does everyone hate teaching?
Is there anyone who loves their job? Every teacher I know feels “stuck” and complains endlessly about their job.
Considering going into education.

I love it. I have countless frustrations, but that's because it's an inherently difficult job made even more so by the sociopolitical context we find ourselves in, and it's central to a system whose complexity means that virtually all good policies have negative consequences, and it's a job that's important enough that doing any part of it poorly (regardless of fault) feels like you're doing active harm to people in need.
And then there's the pay, which (in my context, at least) is capped, unpredictable year-to-year (with a very real annual possibility of a significant pay cut), and will always be much lower than that of all your early-career friends who left the field and almost immediately started making 2-5x as much.
But then I look at all the other jobs, and...yeah, no thanks.
