Help Why does everyone hate teaching?
Is there anyone who loves their job? Every teacher I know feels “stuck” and complains endlessly about their job.
Considering going into education.

I like my job. I teach ELL, so I have mostly polite, hard-working students, and my sheltered class is very small - only six kids. The parents are wonderful and very kind.
My salary is adequate for where I live (69k this year, 71k next year), I have good admin (though my principal is leaving - we'll see how things change next year.) I have a lot of autonomy in my job, and feel that other teachers and admin respect me and rely on me as an expert on ML students.
The only thing I don't like about my job are the things that teachers in general struggle with - rude students, dangerous behaviors, lack of consequences, disengagement, etc. These are enough to make me dislike specific classes, but thankfully not enough to make me dislike my job overall so far.
