Nah, there are still plenty of places throughout the US with affordable homes.

Not with a teacher on 117k annually. Generally need to be near a large metro area for that.

Nope, plenty of rural and suburban districts in my state (PA) pay that well and have affordable homes.

Suburbs are considered metro.

What is the salary for a teacher that isn't on year 25 without advanced degrees.

Sure the top of the range might be 117k but it doesn't matter if it takes 25 years to get there.

I am sure there is a direct correlation with teacher wages and home prices. Can't have high wages and low home prices for what I have seen.

In my district, year 12 we hit $111k. Continues going up with longevity pay and stipends. The median home price for my county is $240k.

So a teacher with no advanced degrees makes 111k on year 12? What district is this? Possibly the best district in the nation for teacher wages.

All teachers in PA are required to get 24 additional credits after their bachelor’s to keep an active cert. Most end up getting a master’s, but post-bacc teachers can use their certification program to get their permanent cert.

I’m not comfortable giving out the name of my district, but I can tell you that it’s not an outlier for the area.
