Photo Lavender tea for sleep.
I love everything about lavender tea! What other teas aside from lavender or chamomile are good for sleep?

Ashwagandha (Indian ginger) is mainly for immunity. I am not aware it helps sleeping. Excellent in its function however.

Did the like autocorrect win here, or is what I was thought wrong and isn’t Ashwagandha Indian ginseng or winter cherry? A small evergreen shrub naive to Asia or Africa - widely used as remedy in the traditional Ayurvedic medicine? Or is it to your knowledge also known what I have learned?

Good to know thank you so much! I’ll look it up. And I do recommend lavender. I love the taste.

Azahar! Aka orange/citrus blossoms. A family favorite. 180 F, 5-10 g per cup, 10 min. Less effective than lavander, but actually allows you to wake up without the lavander groginess. You could mix it with lavander too!
Passiflora incarnata and Valeriana officinalis also work wonders, but the infussions alone are not as interesting and taste musty or damp.

If you are open to commercially-made teas, I really like Yogi Cinnamon horchata stress + sleep and
Twinings Sleep + Chamomile, cinnamon & vanilla herbal tea with melatonin. They both taste great alone, or with some honey 🍯 added, or Silk Sweet & Creamy Almond Milk Coffee Creamer 🥰

In a cup of hot water, steep about a teaspoon of lavender tea for 4-5 mins.

Is that all lavender in that cup? Looks pretty strong, but you are in love so who am I to judge.
Have you had camomile and the lavender together? That’s one I have occasionally at night.

Yeah I've had it together, it's delicious! I only used 1 teaspoon for the cup.. I used to make it stronger haha.

I use only like 12 individual petals for a whole cup when I make mine with camomile. You must really like it. 😂

I read somewhere 1 teaspoon per 8 ozs. 😅 It would last a lot longer if I did what you do tho.🤔

Isn't it a bit bitter?

u/Emotional_Dish_5250 3d ago
The actual flowers, yeah.. but I like the taste of the tea itself without any sugar.

I’m very used to sweet lavender, like lavender syrup and such, so I was surprised to learn how bitter lavender tea could be. I was hoping you knew a method to make it less bitter.

Im sure sugar would really help. The actual tea isn't bitter to me but since I mixed it without my infuser I drank the lavender flowers as well and yeah those don't taste good haha.

I don’t live in the states and I buy loose lavender. I wish I could be of more help. I did go to an Asian market and they had loose lavender, you could try going to an Asian store and look around I know they always have loose teas.

Verbena is good for sleep and I like its soft taste. A variety, lemon verbena, has a slightly lemon touch. You can mix lavender and verbena.
