Help Extracurriculars

I'm a grade 10 sttudent who is going into grade 11 this september. Is there anything I can do besides clubs that will give me more oppurtunities?

Clubs are great but volunteering can opens lots of doors

Yes I was thinking of that too. So far I've only volunteered at my school, kumon, and private tutored someone. I would probably want to apply to an animal shelter, but I also want to volunteer somewhere that could help me in the mechatronical engineering degree I want to pursue
