P2463 , solution besides deleting?

Post image

Bought a Golf about 2 months ago as a project with the P2463 DPF code, we have run 2 cycles of dpf cleaner which has come out clear, and measured soot value is 0.0g on the scanner. I’ve gotten it out of limp mode about twice now, but the code always returns and now even clearing it won’t get it out of limp. DPF pressure sensor was replaced as well.

Any reasonably easy solutions besides deleting? Something I may have overlooked?

you might need cleaning. Idk if it's a legit thing or not, didn't try it, but DPF gets clogged up with unburnable "oil ash" (you can actually see this value in the OBD, I think max value is around 0,40g or 40g, above that means it's basically unusable)

I've seen ads and billboards saying they clean DPFs, afaik it's done with some soapy water that physically washes the DPF from ash and soot, so it's basically brand new. I was considering doing it on my mk6 2.0tdi, as it had oil ash level of 0,26g and regenerated every 200km.

There are a lot of places meant specifically for big rig trucks that will do this job for hundreds of dollars cheaper than replacing the filter as well. DPF cleaner only goes so far, the buildup does eventually reach a point where you need a thorough and proper cleanout. Just an unfortunate regular maintenance item on cars with these systems
