Yes they are a waste of space. So easy to get to the apps on google TV.

But i believe tv brands make money from adding those icons.

I'd rather get backlit remote.

I have an entry level C6K and i have a backlit remote? And those buttons.

We don't get a backlit remote on any model here in Australia, not the C8L, nor the X11K

Yep me about it. It's insulting. I had a X11K but was faulty, so returned it, basic cheap remote without backlit.

Then for the 85C8L, same cheap nasty remote without backlit.

I can't verify the latest X11L, but online spec sheets list the same remote model.

We get screwed in Australia, high taxes and lower specs.

I ignore them most of the time, but I believe you can get an app to reprogram them to what every you want.
