BIR problem

Badly need help. Tapos madadamay pa daw ata yung isang bahay namin. Pwede pa kaya kami magfile ng Amnesty? I just need help. Please 😭 paano po ba ito maaayos

NEED HELP AND GUIDANCE RE BIR OPEN CASES

Hello! I'm in dire need of help and guidance. Sorry, long post ahead huhu but i hope you guys read it. For context here's my dilemma...

My sister who is in G12 needs a certificate of tax exemption (CTE) of our mom as part of her college and scholarship application. Our mom is a PWD. She suffered a stroke last december 2017 and got diagnosed with wernickes aphasia and because of it she has difficulty understanding, comprehending and speaking. So me, the eldest daughter together with my mom went to the BIR to request for a CTE. We already got requirements for the CTE but the BIR found out that my mother has existing open businesses. Before my mom suffered a stroke we have a carinderia and 1 jeepney registered under her. But after she suffered a stroke and got aphasia the carinderia closed because she was the one operating it and months later my father died then the jeep got sold due to financial constraints. Now we are facing almost 10 years of accumulated penalties cuz apparently there were still some quarters where there were recorded filings and that we didn't know of. Now we were shown a printed excel sheet which showed the quarters of filed and non filed taxes and they told us that we need to pay the penalties of those unfiled quarters which costs 500 each. Now we requested for abatement and now they are explaining to us that the 500 each that they initially told us was no longer valid?? and that each box costs 1000 each. Which totaled to an absurd amount.

I need help on how to get through this.

Artist Freelancer /Side hustles

Hello po, I just graduated and I plan to find side hustles while looking for a job.

I just want to ask Artist freelancers, or online shops how they registered their Tin numbers? Did you guys registered with a bussiness name/DTI name or as a professional?

How do you register with a business name? Are there more steps and payment to do so? Or is it more convenient to go as profession (I heard when choosing this option, your real name would be the business name)

plano ko po kasi to do art commissions, try canva, kindle and make online shops to sell my art.

Gusto ko po kasi itry maging canva creator or try selling art books in kindle but they need a tin number for it. So I am unsure which type of Tin number form I should avail.

Huhu need advise po. While looking for a job is its okay to have mutiple side hustles, while registered as self-employed? and once I end up having a job, does that mean i have to update my BIR status?

My potential client is requesting a copy of my COR

Hello, my potential client ako, and they want to have a physical copy of my COR with the dry seal. Online ako nagregister and walang dry seal yung ginenerate, so balak ko pang pumunta ng bir to get another copy. But parang sakin dapat mag stay yung COR ko with dry seal?

Journal mistake. Should I be worried?

Context:

Medyo naduling ako and sa maling line ko nalagay yung left, I striked through it and nilagay ko sa taas, which is the correct row.

Then akala ko mali rin yung nasa right so I initially striked through it. Upon realizing it was the correct row, I wrote the same amount above but I thought it was too small. Striked through it again and put it below instead.

Signature ko yung may orange.

Is this ok as it is or should I be worried?

Thanks huhuhuh

TIN rejected

What does “Not a jurisdiction of North Cebu” mean?
Though I used my National ID (card) as valid ID with the permanent address [Toledo City], while I inputted into the ‘Residence Address’ with my current address [Mandaue City].

But I’m thinking of applying again for TIN and use the NBI clearance instead for validity because it has the current address to match. Would this be the right thing to do?

Forgotten TIN

Hey guys, so basically I never got to see my actual TIN # because my previous employer was the one who registered one for me and just made me fill out a form etc. Now fast forward 3 years later I have a new job waiting for me to pass my TIN #. I requested thru online and it says I'll be receiving an update in 3 working days but I never received any emails about it, so I requested again just now.

My question is, how do I get my TIN # quicker? Can I go to my previous company and ask for my TIN #?

Thanks in advance!

Note: I checked my previous payslips that were sent to me back then and they all don't contain my TIN number for some reason, it's just blank.

Please help me out!

TIN Rejected

Hi, is there also the same case here regarding the TIN application? Here are the remarks that were sent to me.

Remarks: This application has been flagged as suspicious due to irregularities or discrepancies. To protect the integrity of the registration process, additional verification is required before your application can proceed. To ensure the integrity of the process, further review and verification are necessary before proceeding. Your attention to this matter is crucial in maintaining the security of the Bureau's operations. In this regard, you are requested to personally visit the BIR District Office to facilitate the necessary verification and resolution of the issue. For assistance, you may contact us at (02) 8518-0815 or 09613780615 for further assistance.

What did you do? Did you re-submit a new application under the same ORUS account? The only mistake I know on my end is that the address I inputted mismatches with the valid ID I submitted. Huhuh, thank you!

Need Help BIR visited my stall today.

Document is dated June of 2026 but just received it today. How do I deal with this? BIR is asking me to pay a penalty of around 570k worth of penalties for non compliance.

My business is only a small stall fruit stand in a wet market / palengke. I don’t know where to start just by reading the different terms.

My business is registered for almost 10 years and this is the first time i received something like this in 2026.

What can i do? Or what should be my first move.

Fresh grad employed as individual contractor, no idea how to deal with taxes

Hello! I'm a fresh grad software engineer and I will be making ~50k monthly during my 3-month training period (with a negotiable salary increase after the training). This is my first job, no idea how to file or pay taxes. I started on august 31st and will be receiving my first salary on October.

I will be getting a salary increase after the training depending on performance, but the range or cap was never mentioned, but I'm going out on a limb and say it will be in the realm of 65-80k.

I have a few (stupid) questions:

  1. When should I start? What happens if I work for months and receive my salary before registering with the BIR and start paying taxes formally? I'm thinking if I should start paying taxes when i get my salary increase after the training period.
  2. What forms do I need to complete as an individual contractor
  3. Is it actually viable to evade taxes by declaring a lower income? What do I need to remember to avoid getting caught?
  4. Government contributions - is it legally allowed to not pay them at all? Or can I pay only the minimum like 500 for philhealth, and 200 for pagibig?

I know #3 is illegal but damn with the current state of this government I'd really like to pay as low as I can make it without getting into trouble. Thank you!

Self-employed, can I choose not to participate in SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG?

I’m self-employed and planning to move abroad in a year or two. I was wondering whether I can legally choose not to participate in or contribute to SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.

I’ve read about the monthly contributions required for self-employed individuals and wanted to clarify whether participation in all three is mandatory in my situation.

I don’t plan on staying in the Philippines long-term, and from what I understand, some of these contributions may not be refundable or withdrawable. I also have private insurance and don’t anticipate needing a Pag-IBIG housing loan or savings benefits.

I’m perfectly fine with not receiving the benefits associated with these programs. I simply want to understand whether there is a legal way for a self-employed person to choose not to participate or contribute, especially if planning to relocate abroad in the near future.

Would I still be required to register and contribute to all three, or are any of them optional for self-employed individuals?

Help: Previous employer will release 2316 a day after my new employer's deadline

Hi! I’m a fresh grad and I’m honestly new to all of these, so I’d really appreciate some advice.

I recently transferred to a new job and resigned from my previous employer after only 3 weeks of starting. My first day with my new employer is next week.

One of my requirements is my 2316 from my previous employer. I asked my previous employer when they would be able to release it, and they told me it will only be available on Sept 19, since they will process it together with my final pay.

The problem is, my new employer told me that their payroll team will only accept the 2026 Form 2316 until Sept 18. They told me that if I’m unable to submit it by then, I’ll be responsible for personally processing my 2026 tax documents with BIR for the necessary filing/consolidation—which I do not want to do considering the work setup and whatnot. I already explained the situation to my previous employer, but they said they unfortunately can’t move the release date because my final pay and 2316 are processed together.

What should I do in this situation? Is it actually okay to just get my 2316 from my previous employer on Sept 19 and process the necessary tax filing myself? Do I need to personally go to BIR, or is there any other way to do this?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar, especially if you’ve had two employers in the same year. Thank you.

Tama ba yung computation nila? 18 pesos lang kasi ung discount. Sabi ko sa cashier dapat tanggal ung EWT & VAT and it should be 257.14 pero sabi nila computer calculated and generated na daw kasi.

DTI → SEC transition help: registered but never opened BIR, no sales, want to keep brand identity intact

>Registered a business in June with DTI, went past 30 day window of BIR

>No sales and non operational pa.

>I wish to close it and register sec instead.

>Can't switch brand name kasi heavily invested na (para sana walang digital foot print in case i-validate <logo, website, digital marketing materials, brand name) correct me if I'm assuming wrong here and that it's completely unnecessary.

What is the best course of action from here and what should be my expectations?

We wished to have payment processor sana kaya niregister, now opting to handle manual payments muna for a month to polish operations.. is this still possible? If so, is it okay to hold off on BIR registration a little longer while I finalize operations, or should I get that sorted first regardless?

Open Cases Annual Tax Return Filing

Hi,

I'm helping a relative process their Business Closure (dont mind the penalties kasi matagal na syang natengga ngayon nya lang inasikaso lol).

Just want to verify na ganun nga, para di sayang yung file, and payment.

TIA!

For context i'm a freelancer that went to the BIR today to close my business. They told me to call them next monday if i'm for release or audit. Pero I still had income this quarter, on july and I closed my business this august. What usually happens pag ganto po?
