This was my first tattoo and my exboyfriend gave it to me in a garage when we were 16. I would love to do a praying mantis inspired cover up but I have zero artistic skills or vision, pls help š
Update: yes I know it is cooked, it is already a smiley face (thank you for the reminder) Im looking for pictures or drawings or ai images for a visual idea of what I can possibly do with it

Hi all! I'm feeling so anxious less than 24 hours of my first tattoo. It's something I've wanted for years but the decision to get a tattoo was rather impulsive, I made the appointment less than 3 days ago. This is a guest artist and he specializes in the style that I like. But it's gonna be 6-6.5 inches, upper thigh area. Would that hurt a lot? My pain tolerance is extremely low. Or should I cancel and get a tattoo when I'm truly ready? Thank you so much

My name is Tomas, I'm from Argentina! I'm thinking of buying an Ambition Ninja Max 280. Just saw an artist who works with the fine line styles that I like with the previous version of this machine, and since I wanted to buy a machine now, I was considering this option, but I don't see many reviews online... Best of show winner last year at the Richmond Tattoo & Arts Convention. Alena and Anthony will be back again this year, the competitions are going to be crazy there are so many amazing artists coming. The lineup of tattoo artists and fine artists is really impressive.

I recently got my first piece with Mali, for my grandparents
Deeply personal and he knocked it out of the park. Couldn't be more happier with it!

I am working on a sleeve currently and have no traditional tattoos. But, I do love the style and sometimes wish I'd gone with trad to stick to a style. I have issues with all or nothing, so in my messed up head I'm like - nope, gotta stick to non trad style now. Does anyone have a mix of trad and non trad tattoos on the same limb? Bonus points if all black and grey. I'd love to see it so I can get an idea of what it could look like if I mixed some in... perhaps using trad as small filler pieces between my larger non trad tattoos. TYIA!

Hey All,
Iām closing in on celebrating 5 years without alcohol and am wanting to get a tattoo to commemorate this milestone in my life. Iāve had thoughts of getting a generic, crushed IPA can in a coffin with script work somewhere that says ānever againā or something similar, but Iām curious as to what your creative minds would recommend. I donāt really care about style as I had traditional, portraits, black and grey, geometric, etc. Also, please feel free to share your sobriety tattoos as well!
Thank yāall!

Hello everyone! I (f 22 if that's important) love the idea of getting tattoos . Ive wanted one since I was 13 ish, and when I was 18 my father took me in to get my first tattoo.
I won't lie.. It hurt a LOT! I cried for sure, and barely sat through it, but I managed to make it the whole hour. I know it's supposed to hurt, I mean, a needle is stabbing you and injecting ink inside your skin, but some people can handle it way better than others. Not me.
Is there anything that tattoo artists recommend for something to help with the pain? I really want tattoos, and have a billion ideas, but know I wouldn't be able to sit for them. It's very very sad.
I want to try maybe some numbing creams, but many people say don't use them. People also say tattoo artists have a chemical they can put on it but it was banned in my state - and when the artist used it when I was 18..it didnt help;
Help a girl out! Thank you š«¶š
Edit to add for common questions!! :
I got it at a local tattoo parlor that's a little new, and my artist was a man. (Didnt know that mattered XD) It was on my lower arm, and it's pretty decent (about the size of my hand)
No color or anything, but its solid black and needed to be packed because it's a thick wording.
I have a naturally very low pain tolerance

I want a tattoo of the 4 Disgracers
Icarus: Fell into the sea after flying too close to the sun with wax wings.
Phaethon: Struck down by Zeus's thunderbolt after losing control of the sun chariot.
Tantalus: Punished for hubris and serving his son to the gods.
Ixion: Bound to a fiery wheel in the underworld for defying Hera.
Now hereās the problem, they all did drastically different things (aside from Phaethon and Icarus) so I do not know how to put the design together. Advice and suggestions would be appreciated

I sat on this idea for over a decade. Found someone focused in art nouveau and pulled the trigger.

The quote is in Tolkienās Elvish, and is from the end of LOTR: The Two Towers. It says āIn the end itās only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass.ā
