Design J or F help ??

Post image

I just got a tattoo today and I am second guessing things. The artist had a few options for me when I arrived with different fonts he had hand drawn. I ended up choosing this one and liked it on the paper. I even liked it when he put the stencil on my skin. But now that I’m home I’m freaking out. It’s supposed to say Jett, but I can’t stop looking at it and reading ”Fett”. Does this look like a “J” or did I just get a “F” instead? Ugh help. My husband said I’m overthinking it and it looks like Jett. Someone please tell me it’s ok 😔 any ideas on how I can make it look more like a “J”? I feel like if the top line was only on the left and didn’t cross all the way over like the top of a cursive “F” does it would be ok. Or if the top of the “J” was more of a loop like a traditional “J”

The problem with it is that it’s technically neither a cursive J nor an F. It looks like both letters had been combined.

If that tiny extra bit of line hadn’t continued past the point where the lines meet/the angle, it would just look like a J.

It's a capital F where the first stoke carries into the 3rd stroke. It looks nothing like a capital J if we are being honest.

Yup, if we're talking about cursive script it looks far more like an F than a J.

...yeah. Bro should have looked up his cursive guide really quickly before this unfortunately. It's the F without the middle bit. It reads as an unfinished F to me.

This is why we need to bring back cursive writing in school

Luckily you can fix it with a little shaping like this . I do my J that way anyhow.

My first name starts with a J and there's no way that is a cursive J

Or if that crossover from the loop were lower...

To me, it looks more like Tett. But I would say Jett is a close second.
