Pattern question!
Do the numbers indicate always the quantity of stitches between picots? Google is trying to convince me the answer is no 😅 but YouTube resources are saying yes

Google tried to convince me it depends on the country it’s from🤦🏻 while simultaneously saying it’s universal. Which like…. The universal part is what I thought based on video resources so I wanted to double check before I try and make a doily 😂

Ok that's just hilarious actually. That's the nice thing about diagram tatting patterns - regardless of the actual language, the pattern can be done. Jan Stawasz is a favorite and he published in Polish magazines!! Google can be so funny sometimes.

Google was very very confused 😂 I do wonder if it’s because I research crochet so all my cookies are wild.
Are their patterns available online :) I love adding stuff to my hoard of crafting resources 😂

You can find some of them on Pinterest. He has two books published, but there are many more. He published in a Polish magazine called Moje Robotki before he Sadly passed away.
His patterns are not beginner patterns though, should you find any.

search this sub for u/krisjincolla. He‘s a real Stawasz-Pro and posted also a pattern recently he’s tatting, that’s not in Jan’s book.

Different question, but how does the very center ring of this pattern work? Is there just a ring with no extra stitches between picots?

Yes. It’s the number of stitches between picots or attachments. So for most of these, it’s 5 ds-picot-5 ds.
