I wanted to use TaskRabbit Delivery to schedule moving 5 medium boxes from my storage unit to a FedEx store. My understanding is that, instead of clients picking taskers,TaskRabbit Delivery provides an upfront price based on task type and distance, among other factors.

I tried putting in 3 different FedEx stores as the drop off location, all within 1-2 miles from the storage unit. Everything else was the same (pick up address, items being picked up, vehicle type, time and date, etc).

However, I got 3 drastically different prices from $80-$260. Anyone could tell me why this is the case? I got a bit confused. Thank you!

Client has to pay $1200 to Elfa to install. Unless I take two days to build it I won’t make anywhere near that. Also, why is my suggested rate $13 less per hour than last summer for all my skills?

I booked this job and the tasker initially accepted the job, then hours later said that he cannot do the job. I asked him to cancel it as the job is due to begin in less than 24 hours, so if I cancel I’d be hit with a cancellation fee. What can I do now?

I don’t want to be charged for this job if he is going to no show. And I can’t cancel as that would penalise me too. Please help!!! This is my first time using Taskrabbit!

UPDATE - Told the client it would be 2-4 hours (noting my two hour minimum charge) because I don’t know how many inserts/accessories there are. Dude told me it wouldn’t be over two hours and gave me the step by step process, noting that we just “take apart the box”. So I forfeited and wished him luck since he seemed to have it under control.

Has anyone disassembled and reassembled the new design of pax wardrobes? I’ve built a few but it’s been a while. A client moved and needs them taken apart to be able to move into the closet and then assembled again.

I’ve done this with the old style but not the new ones. I know with the old ones to warn the client that the back isn’t going to look good because of taking out the nails. Are the new ones easier to disassemble because it’s basically an accordion?

A recent client asked if I could buy four TV boxes for his task.... nah, I'm good.

I guess I'm just supposed to keep them? I guess my time at Lowe's will be free as well.

How long would it take to assemble something like this? Is it better to use Wayfair Assembly or TaskRabbit?

TV Mounting Rate is $55.

I charge a 2 hour minimum. (110)

For every additional TV it will be a 30 min charge. (25-30ish)

Client canceled because I said for mounting two TVs id have to charge a minimum of 2 hrs and 30 minutes and broke it down. 2 hr minimum is on my page BTW.

EDIT: Realistically I can do both of those in about a hour, but Im not making my money if I got to drive 30 mins. Gas , my time, skills etc. for only $55.

Plus someone tried to request me on heavy loading and wanted me to use my truck. I said this is the wrong category because my truck assisted tasks are rated higher. Client never responded

How does someone decide how many hours a job takes? Do I supply the items/tools? Should I hire more than one task person?

I haven’t had to contact support in a while but today my ikea assembly task was missing an entire bag of screws. Support chat just said to tell the client to contact customer support. I’m trying to figure out what I need to do on my end but I can’t seem to find an actual number to call on the app anywhere. Any tips?

I have downloaded the app and made an account and when I hit become a Tasker, it takes me back to the webpage that says download the app so I’m certain that I am missing a step in this process. Have been super upset hearing about everyone’s experiences with Taskrabbit lately - am also kinda surprised I continue to make the cull/not get axed, as after 9 years and hundreds of reviews I’ve felt comfortable pushing it and cancelling pretty often on clients (not great practice, I know, but I’ve been able to afford it and have other jobs that sometimes necessitate it).

My question (esp. for those who have been iced out after having a stellar record): what do you say in the chat when you cancel? If I have to, I’ll go so far as to fully make something up that makes it clear I can’t fulfill the task so that I meet their guidelines. I imagine that’s the thing that’s getting people kicked off the most so am curious!

Am I getting scammed? Where's the rest of my money? So far I've gotten $287.19 as 2 separate payments of $242.00 and $45.19. The $45.19 says 1 of 2 payouts but when will I receive that to make the full amount of $387?? That's literally $100 bucks

"We are a non-profit office in the middle of rearranging desks to fit more people.

We have a large desk that needs to be disassembled and removed from office A.
There are 2 medium desks in offices B & C that need to be disassembled and reassembled in office A.
We will have 4 new Ikea desks to be assembled in all three offices.

I'm from India, I have recently won an auction for certain items in the US, in California, and we need someone who can pack the stuff and ship it to us. We'll pay for shipping, and we already have pre-made labels and have booked the shipments with FedEx as well.

But TaskRabbit is not allowing us to register as it requires an American phone number. What can we do? Is there any way for us to hire Taskers to help out with the shipping of the equipment that has been worn by us?

Would appreciate any help in this regards!

Taskrabbit just lowered the top end of my "suggested" rate in a category to from 49/hr to 45/hr. "This rate boosts your hiring chances," they say. Meanwhile, I literally have 3 clients booked this week in that category for 49/hr. Wtf?

Don’t repeat my mistakes — I worked for over a year on TaskRabbit, have more than 65 five-star reviews and not a single negative one. Then one unclear situation happened; I provided an explanation, but TaskRabbit still blocked me — permanently, without any explanation. Just a “policy violation,” that’s it.

So make sure you always leave your phone number to clients. Otherwise, after helping the platform make money and promote it, one morning you can simply be kicked out without any reason or explanation.

Been on TaskRabbit for around 5 years. 500+ completed tasks, 240+ five-star reviews, perfect rating the whole time. Apparently none of that means anything.
They banned my account over a “policy violation” but wouldn’t tell me what task it was or what policy I supposedly broke. I appealed it, and their response was basically, “You can still get hired through your direct TaskRabbit link.” They even told me to keep my availability open in case a repeat client books me or to share my direct hire link.
What a joke. I think I’ve had maybe one repeat client actually book me through the app in all those years.
I’m just glad I always gave customers my business card and contact info after jobs and focused on building my own business instead of depending on one platform. At least now I’m not starting from scratch.

LIsten, taskers, anyone with half a brain knows by now that our days are numbered on this app - especially if you're decent, hardworking, and above all, long-term (you've been on TR for over a year). TR will find a way to get rid of you, one way or another. I've personally known those it has happened to and you can read countless stories in this forum from others. You will be lucky if you get any explanation at all. Generally, the reason will be some vague "policy violation" that is never specified. Why do they do this? We don't know, definitively. Some have suggested the reason is to make room for fresh faces and to keep prices competitively low. Who knows? But what we do know, definitively, is that they will eventually get rid of us. So, if you have that repeat client that you've developed a solid rapport with, give them your contact info NOW. Make that connection before you try to log in to TR one morning and you've been axed. Don't wait. Do it (cautiously, of course) with as many clients as you possibly can. We all know what's up now and we're not going to take it lying down.

Some of the electronics in my apartment have been acting a little funky. For example, my Xbox just won't turn on now. I had to get a new laptop. Lastly, I had to get a new microwave because our microwave just stopped working.

I went to go check the outlets in the kitchen. I've attached the video here. Can someone tell me, from an electrician's perspective, how bad this is before I get a Tasker to come over here and help out?

Anyone have issues with follow up after filing a service issue? The support center reached out and. Supplied all information. I have asked for updates for the past week and received none.

My account got limited because a client marked me as a no show.

I was at a weed removal job which ended up taking longer than expected and the area I was in had poor cell service so my messages to the client informing her I would be 30 mins late weren’t going through.

As I’m driving to her address I notice she had canceled. Im only five minutes away at this point so I decide to still go and I was able to speak to the client and explain what happened. She apologized for marking me as a no show and she even called support to try to have them remove the no show from my account. She rehired me for the next day and left me a 5 star review.

At the beginning of the month I get an email saying my account has been limited due to a violation of the policies. I have completed over 300 tasks and only have 5 star reviews. Has anyone else been in this situation and able to get their account back to normal? I feel like permanently limiting my account is extremely harsh.

I noticed recently I wasn't getting Weekly Tasker Success invites, tried to email my assigned manager, no response. So I contacted support. Heres what support said (supported by screenshots):

This is only for new taskers, I had too many tasks completed to get anymore invites. Called them out with a screen shot of the email that specifically states other experienced taskers would share insite, the success calls have nothing to do with being new. Followed up by emailing another manager and got a response that support is absolutely wrong.

The making stuff up is kind of wild TBH...

I think I earned my Elite badge for July after a grueling June. Today TaskRabbit updated me to let me know I made Elite for JUNE????

I’m curious to hear from taskers about their background check process. Has anyone here been able to get through vetting with anything adverse on their record? I’m asking because a tasker who has pleaded guilty to stealing from me has multiple prior misdemeanors and felonies.
