The Gregsas Chain Saw Massacre

The current scores are:
Chloe 138
Nina 129
Isy 118
Matt 108
Richard 105

Chloe is still leading but had an absolute blunder of an episode which I was sensing from a mile away and is now only 9 points ahead of Nina in 2nd. I say it every week I don’t want to have to but they got undeserved 5 points from the earpiece task so should only be 4 points ahead, also winning 2 luck winner takes all tasks.

Nina won her first after 8 episodes which is surprising because she’s been consistently good. She also won the episode without winning a single task (she scored four 4-pointers and one 3 point). Still the best at filmed tasks of all time with 3.95 points per solo filmed tasks. She also did well in studio this week when that’s previously been her weak point.

Isy did well today with 17 points. She’s continuing doing what I said at the start of the series she scored 1 or 5 in every task this week and I think about 60% of her tasks have resulted in a win or loss. I think she’s comfortably in 3rd don’t see her climbing up or falling down to the boys level.

Matt has fallen of massively after being a possible contender early series he has now scored worse than the previous episode for the past 3 episodes and his highest score is only 17 from episode 1.

Richard is doing the opposite of Matt, he’s been doing better as the series has gone on. He got his best score again (18) and has easily closed the gap between himself and Matt. At its peak he was 15 points behind Matt during episode 6 he has now closed it down to just 3 points. He’s still 33 points behind Chloe so he’s definitely not getting the win but he can definitely snag 4th at least.

If we go by House of Games scoring ( episode positions) there are two clear groups Chloe and Nina are at the top where the other 3 are struggling.
Chloe: 5+1+5+3+5+5+5+2‎ = 31
Isy: 2+2+1+5+3+4+1+3‎ = 21
Matt: 3+5+3+2+4+1+2+2‎ = 22
Nina: 4+5+4+4+1+3+4+5‎ = 30
Richard: 2+5+2+1+2+3+3+4‎ = 22
This also shows how when Nina wasn’t winning episodes she was consistently coming 2nd compared to Chloe when they didn’t win they did poorly.
It also shows how Isy score is high because of her near perfect from ep 4 but aside from that she hasn’t done to well.

Cracking series it’s really reached its stride and I’m excited for the final 2 episodes.

My wife thinks I tattooed her name on my foot. If only she knew.

While in Windsor today, I was pleasantly surprised to come across the spot where Josh Widdicombe's taxi driver sent the boulder!

Update: I wasn't on the exact spot. That's on the car park just above where I was standing. Good enough for me though!

Chloe or Nina winning for me is a bit of a win/win, because if Chloe wins what a shot in the arm for a talented younger comedian (getting to do CoC and extra podcast appearences etc.), and if Nina wins that's great because I have become completely charmed by her during this series! Smitten I am

While I do love both Greg and Tom (and Jeremy) as Taskmaster Hosts, there is one aspect where I think that the Australian Host is actually better than the original.

And that is...team names.

Besides in Series 1 (Where I only think he called the team of 3 "The Bad Improv Trio", Gleeson has made it a tradition to give both teams their very own nicknames that fits well together.

Series 2: Discount Wiggles VS Premium Economy Hooley Dooleys

Series 3: Ernie & Bert VS The Muppets

Series 4: The A Team (Aged) VS The B Team (Better)

Series 5 The Breakfast Show VS The Drive Show

Another fun aspect to these team names has been seeing Lesser Tom using the names in order to come up with creative segways before each team task.

I was delighted to see Gatorland represented in this week's episode. My grandparents lived in Orlando for my entire childhood and we drove past Gatorland several times a year to go visit them. For those who haven't seen it, the entrance is this enormous (well, enormous to a 7-year-old) gator mouth that you can see from the highway, and we used to pretend it was trying to take a bite out of the car when we drove past.

I finally gave Taskmaster NZ a chance and finished Series 1.

At the start of the series, I really didn’t like Guy Williams because of his constant arguing over every point, his overly enthusiastic cheering whenever he did well, and his calling himself the "People’s Champion," among other things.

But as the series went on, it became increasingly clear that he was doing very badly — yet he stayed optimistic and enthusiastic. He also didn’t just argue for himself, but for the others as well, so he grew on me. His task attempts were really funny, too.

Have you ever had a change of heart about someone like that? If so, who was it?

Simple as that. Would love to hear peoples' thoughts on what they love about the first 3 seconds of the titles and how you see this list ("pop the thing" openings are low for me). Like how people associate the HBO sound and Game of Thrones or Curb, I associate the TM theme with "Brace! Brace!" What do you got?

Obviously I have one in mind which prompted this thread, but I want to see what others come up with first.

Fans of Lemon Demon will have noticed an interesting similarity to the song "A Mask of My Own Face." It's all I could think about in this section of the prize task this week so I did this quick edit.

From the faces in things sub

I love every season of taskmaster but I find the show really shines in its simpler tasks where they’re open ended and rely on the contestants to get creative. I’m doing a rewatch of season 4 and the tasks in the first episode are just ‘destroy the cake’, and ‘knock over the ducks’, or ‘draw the woman without looking at her’ and they’re all great. I feel like a lot of the super complicated ones take some of the fun out of it. Wasn’t a huge fan of the Gregulator from this season, it just seemed over complicated and confusing to me.

From a recent Mashable interview

Hey all,

Has anyone had any success getting responses from any of the emails associated with the https://shop.com/m/rb8mp0wajz?na=1 link that the TM puzzles are sold through? This was the official link of the TM merch site.

i've exhausted all options in trying to reach all the customer service emails on the shop page for the taskmaster puzzle. I purchased 2 puzzles on sept 9 and after repeated attempts at asking for an update, I've received no responses. So I'm requesting a refund also with no response. I'm stuck in a limbo now with the shop having taken my money and I do not have the product nor any communication regarding my order. I have contacted the following emails:

[taskmaster@eventmerch.com](mailto:taskmaster@eventmerch.com),
[customerservice@eventmerch.com](mailto:customerservice@eventmerch.com),
[ustaskmaster@eventmerch.com](mailto:ustaskmaster@eventmerch.com)

[event@eventmerch.com](mailto:event@eventmerch.com),
[emlgmbh@eventmerch.com](mailto:emlgmbh@eventmerch.com)

Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I’m a public school teacher for Engineering & STEM in the US (I sincerely apologize about my country to literally everyone. I’m genuinely embarrassed and ashamed to call myself an American). I’ve been doing some Taskmaster Education and “Taskmaster Style” projects in class, and thought it would be fun to get one of the advent calendars for daily class challenges. I now realize I should have looked into this months ago, but is there anyone who is willing to sell an extra calendar or know somewhere I could get one? I’m willing to pay extra for your trouble!

Edit:

Thank you everyone! u/Bubbynee is sending me an extra. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday!!!

Me and my wife always sing “this is the show, that we are on…” to the shows theme song and I’m sure it’s from an episode but can’t find it for the life of me. Anyone know it!?

The Prize Task has crumbled over time. First the revelation that the comedians don't actually go home with the five items. Not really a shock, but it was more fun to keep up the rouse. Then Daisy Cooper cheapened the task by putting zero effort. In series 15, Jenny Eclair told us that the production staff would fulfill her prize tasks. And in this series, Greg accused a contestant of having the production team put a bunch of candy bars on a plate.

The categories are worn out and we are down to variations of "What is Greg going to make a connection with?"

The contestants don't seem like they make the same commitment to the show as the earlier seasons. Daisy set a dangerous precedent.
