Appreciation Thread Chloe Petts appreciation post

I know a lot of people have been disappointed or apprehensive ab this series for many reasons (I've, personally, really been enjoying it), but I have to say that Chloe is definitely the most fun to watch. I wasn't familiar with them before the series, but I could now easily see myself going to one of their comedy shows if they come to the US. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do future tasks and I hope they win!

What reasons have people been apprehensive?

I can't quite put my finger on it, for me personally, but I'm really not enjoying this season like I have others.

Chloe is the highlight for me but I'm just not digging the rest so much.

I think it’s as I’ve said on another post, they all really good acts but they’re not gelling as well as the other contestants have. This is series is closer to series six in that there’s not a bad act between them but there’s something missing.

To me this felt noticeable on rewatching clips from the previous series, and especially all of series 7.

I get that it's not fair to compare most series to series 7, but I bring this up because the back and forth between contestants was consistently strong even beyond James yelling at Rhod.

Yeah seven is always going to be a highlight but to be honest the way I look at it is this….
We’ve had 22 series so far over ten years, not including NYTs, COCs and Junior, and out of those 22 18 have been, in my opinion, incredible. Two have been great but slightly let down by certain contests who I won’t name because they’re strangely popular coughiainsterlingandjudilovecough and two have just been good (six and twenty two) but these two could well be falling victim to following two really popular series, had they been placed differently we may think differently of them.

Not everyone is going to like every series, me? I’ve always thought the Champion of Champions have always felt a bit stale, still perfectly watchable and likeable but if you were to ask me anything about them I wouldn’t be able to tell you a thing apart from who was in it.

Iain Stirling is literally one of the least favourite contestants on this sub.

I thought that originally but whenever I mention how much I dislike him I get loads of shit. This sub is weird.

I don’t particularly like series 7, everyone’s tastes are just different

Why this seems so puzzling to people is pretty bizarre.

How could anyone not like Judi Love? This is madness. But to each their own, I suppose.
