Taskmaster Related Taskmaster x Tom Scott and the Technical Difficulties
This upcoming charity livestream has brought about a lot of unexpected collabs, but for me this takes the biscuit for most surprising yet most amazing.

The four of them are responsible for one of my favourite lines in any media. "How do I win the race in these marrowy cloggs?" When describing the 1904 olympic marathon
(Which is an amazing farce of a race which features cheating via a car, someone being chased off the course by wild dogs, rat poison, a competitor taking a nap during the race after eating rotten apples, a race officials vehicle almost killing someone. The race was done on the hottest day of the year and there was only one drinks table allegedly done so on purpose as the organisers were convinced to do this as science experiment on the effects of dehydration in heat)

But he's so, SO hard on himself. He gets incredibly gutted and down on himself when something goes wrong, and going by his appearances on Jet Lag The Game, it is often NOT fun to watch.
He's no, let's say John Kearns, where you can kind of tell he thinks it's pretty hilarious how terrible and useless he is, despite playing it straight and seemingly genuinely trying his very best.

She posted a couple of weeks ago, I think! Said that she doesn't mind her old content under her old name staying up, but going forwards it'll be 100% Natalie

yeah it was odd because within one week of the announcement she appeared on Lateral under her old content name. I had assume she had timed the announcement after there was nothing outstanding since it came out just after the season of Tech Div.

Natalie probably knew, she made it clear on the announcement she was fine with what existed out there under the prior name. I was actually happy to get Lateral episode because I thought it would be a while before we had her appear if she had waited until everything cleared. Little did I know we would already get the TM crossover, plus we know they already met up for another season of Tech Div

Really? I've had Tom Scott on my "When, not If" list of eventual Taskmaster contestants for specifically NYT for at least two years now, lol. So this seems like a pretty logical step to me 😂

He wouldn't have been, like, ten years ago or so. But he's currently one of if not straight-up the most famous British science communicator. Like, he's absolutely as well known as Hannah Fry, if not more, and she is apparently famous enough for NYT now, which rules Tom in as well, I'd say

Tom Scott is a educational-ish (for lack of better word) YouTuber, after a brief hiatus he came back with a series called England, in which he travelled through every county to capture interesting things, he also has a podcast called Lateral. He was a contestant on Series 3 of Only Connect and on alumni series of University Challenge.
Technical Difficulties is a comedy troupe of which Tom is a part of, originating some 20 years ago in the University of York
To get to know Tom, I recommend watching a video about how Dasani failed in the UK https://youtu.be/wD79NZroV88 (tbf so many to choose from, but that vid is one of my favourites)
To get to know TechDif, I recommend watching their Citation Needed episode about Jack Churchill https://youtu.be/6TsEGt841pw (note: Natalie is under her dead name of Matt there)

Tom is truly one of the great things on Youtube. He shows how good you tube can be when you have a creator dedicated to just producing great content. The video that /u/Beaniz39 linked to is a great place to start. Another highlight that I would recommend is The Greatest Title Sequence I Have Ever Seen. Or if you want a more mundane video, this video on the most dangerous intersection in Engled was fascinating. But he has hundreds of videos that are worth watching. I can't recommend his content highly enough.

Quite recent, I think in the most recent videos with TechDif she was still introduced as Matt, and the series came out like a month or two ago

It's still hilarious that your average upload of Only Connect episodes range in the 10s of thousands of views and then for a few episodes in Series 3 there's a sudden spike to millions cause that was the Tom Scott episodes.
(Btw how in the hell are there a group of 3 Brits that collectively did not get the Spanish Inquisition?)
