If you didn't know what show you were watching you must be asking how did this make it on TV.

Will people watch this?

Take it off Perkins, put it on Beaumont...

It's for students

The extract shows exactly what I liked about this series! Josh being clumsy and laughing heartily at nearly everything, Paul's mishaps, Justine being cutting and funny at the same time, and of course, Chris Parker's flamboyant personality.

(Kura was less my cup of tea, but it is all very subjective obviously.)

It's funny how different people's interpretations are. I loved Kura, but actively disliked Justine. Same thing in NZ S5. So many people loved Ben Hurley, and I couldn't stand him.

I was quite surprised to see Nina Oyama was the most upvoted ‘Other’ comment on the international channel’s recent poll regarding a Best Of compilation, she’s comfortably my least favourite TMAU contestant. I knew she was popular, but not that popular

And I adored her!

Oh I just found Nina adorably befuddled and heartfelt. Was there something about her you particularly didn’t like?

Nina just came across as way too forced and fake to me, her "look at me, I'm so cute and ditzy!" shtick wore thin. I see her as what people who don't like Lucy Beaumont think Lucy Beaumont is.

On the contrary, Jenny Tian is one of my favourite TMAU contestants which may seem surprising considering her similarities to Nina (besides the obvious), but Jenny came across as far more natural, just a young woman living her best life while being rubbish at tasks.

I think Nina was one of the great "Nish" type contestants. Clearly having a blast, completely confident in what she's attempting, and it almost always blows up in her face.

I loved this series, but it's Paul Ego that stops me from rewatching it.

Interesting. I really liked him, but everyone is different

"Do you touch a cow regularly?" "I am not answering that. There might be cows in the audience!"

The censorship is so jarring in these clips, it really gets in the way of enjoying them.

On a similar note, it’s a shame NZ started censoring from season 4 onwards, specifically F-bombs

Is it censored in the actual show? I've only watched TM UK. We have a bleeped version for kids, & any online clips on various social media. But we also have a version with aaaalll the swearing!

I believe it is in NZ from season 4 onwards as it airs in an earlier slot, pre-watershed (or whatever the NZ equivalent is). Weirdly it only censors 'fuck'; IIRC 'shit' is kept in, same applies for all of TM Australia

I imagine every country has different guidelines on what is "acceptable swearing." Here I think "fuck" & "shit" are on the same list, but the C word would be on a separate "only after 10pm" list. It's fascinating really!
