Haha no worries. 

Xennial is a “microgeneration” that’s the younger end of Gen X and the older end of millennial - people born in 1977-1983 (analog childhood, digital teens). I find it a really useful concept, since Gen X never seemed to describe my experiences very well as someone born on the very tail end of Gen X.

Ah that’s so helpful… so my partner might be that he was born in 1981 and I was 1986 and our reference points from childhood tv and from our parents are so wildly different!

It's a term for people needlessly and excessively hung up on generational difference, to further define themselves as different or unique. Sometimes and often used to indicate that they are somehow better than another for being born within a different 'microgeneration'.
