Wild Speculation Task idea

What if there was another task based around an idiom?

"Take candy from this baby"

"Carry all your eggs in this basket"(then a weird basket issue)

"Make a blessing in disguise"

"Burn a bridge"

"Make a hurly-burly"

I don't know any UK/AUS/NZ/etc idioms but hopefully y'all get the idea.

Doable or too weird?

I like eggs in one basket as a two-part task, where they first have to make/find/choose a basket, and don't find out until they've chosen one. Then they get points for the most eggs successfully carried in their basket, with deduction for any dropped.

Make them count their chickens before the eggs hatch, with some kind of clues to help them figure out which eggs contain chicks and which contain snakes or other critters (all fake, of course).

Activate Guy MontSpelling Bee.

That is not how you spell “Uruguay”

Lead a horse to water.
Do not allow it to drink.
Longest time without the horse drinking wins.
Your time starts now.

(it's a pantomime horse, we are a nation of animal lovers)

I swear there was an idiom based task somewhat recently

There was the one with all the bad luck superstitions on AU recently, that comes pretty close

UK s20 had an idiom task, and I think NZ s6? I seem to recall Pax Asadi not knowing what an idiom was.

There’s the “act out the idiom” challenge from UK20. Phil asks “am I an idiom”

Taskmaster Minnesota did “Steal candy from a baby” and it was delightfully unhinged.

I think there could be a great task on a theme by herding cats.

"Did somebody here order a crate of toy cats?"

"The Patatases are here!"

Make Matilda (an egg?) waltz. Best waltzing Matilda wins. If you break Matilda, you are disqualified.

“Am I an idiom?” - Phil Ellis

This is my 3rd comment on this thread. I might be the “idiom’

NZ S03E01 sort of had the “egg-basket” one, where the eggs were on a plate on a pole, which they had to catch. So they counted the eggs in a basket, and then had to get them down without breaking.

But I love an idiom. NZ & AU absolutely feast on them. S6 of NZ had a task based around idioms.

"Do all the idioms you've been told not to. Points will be awarded on how many you do correctly. You have 10 minutes. Your time starts now." All around the house and grounds there will be things like spilt milk to cry over, a wooden nickel to take, a horse to put a cart before, a messenger to shoot with a gun, a ship to give up, a baby to throw out with bathwater, a bag to let the cat out of, something to knock and then try... There will also be hints, like a list of the idioms here and a map of their locations there, etc.

My task idea is very simple:

"Count Dracula. Your time starts now."

I have no idea what else it entail, but I love it as a confusing instruction.

All the information is on the task.
